Juve Duo Extend Contracts

Pavel Nedved, who was widely tipped to retire at the end of next season, has
extended his contract by three years tying him to the club until June 2009 when he
will be 36 years old. Lillian Thuram has also extended his contract by three years
when he will be 38.

Turkey Soach Sacked

The Turkish Football Federation has sacked coach Ersun Yanal. Turkey are currently
second behind Ukraine in their World Cup qualyfying group.

Spurs And Chelsea Strike Deal on Arnesen

A statement released by Tottenham read as follows :

"Tottenham Hotspur Football Club and Chelsea Football Club today announced that
they have reached agreement in principle regarding Frank Arnesen. Formal
documentation is to be signed by 30 June 2005. The terms are confidential and will
not be disclosed."

Bobby Carlos Robbed

Real Madrid defender Bobby Carlos was robbed at gunpoint in Brazil while giving an
interview over his mobile phone with Radio Jovem Pam. When the car he was
travelling in stopped at traffic lights two gunman smashed the windows and
demanded his valuables. After the ordeal he said :

"I have just been robbed while I am talking from my car. Oh Jesus, I have been
robbed. They didn't recognise me because I was sitting in the back seat. I am
shocked and very scared."

Gilardino Too Expensive for Berlusconi

"Gilardino is too expensive and at that price (€38 million) I really wouldn't buy him.
In any case, I don't think he's on the market any more because Parma's new owners
will want such a valuable player to stay with them." - Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi

Redknapp Forced To Retire

"Jamie has been forced to stop playing otherwise he could have ended up a cripple.

He was getting through games last season on pain-killing injections. It has been a
hard decision but following medical advice he has had to put his long-term health
first. He wants to stay in the game and take his coaching badges but I'm sure
he will also have plenty of offers for TV and media work." - Harry Redknapp

UEFA President Gets the Horn

UEFA President made the following ill timed comments ahead of the UEFA's Euro
2005 Women's final :

"There are so many companies that could make use of the fact that you can see the
girl playing on the ground, sweaty, in the rainy weather, and coming out of the
dressing room, lovely-looking. That would sell."
