FIFA World Youth Championships.

The draw for the FIFA Youth World Championships which will be held in the UAE between March
25 to April 16 is as follows :

Group A : UAE, Slovakia, Panama, Burkina Faso
Group B : Argentina, Spain, Uzbekistan, Mali
Group C : Brazil, Canada, Czech Republic, Australia
Group D : Colombia, Egypt, Japan, England
Group E : Saudi Arabia, Ireland, Mexico, Ivory Coast
Group F : Paraguay, USA, South Korea, Germany

Nowotny Injured In Comeback Match

Leverkusen captain Jens Nowotny is out for the rest of the season after tearing knee ligaments in
his comeback match against Cottbus. Nowotny had just returned to the game following 9 months
on the sidelines after injuring the same knee in a Champions League match against Manchester United.

Van Gaal Sacked

Barcelona have finally parted company with Dutchman Louis Van Gaal following another embarrassing
league performance which left the club in the midst of a relegation battle and 20 points of leaders
Real Sociedad.

Kerr New Ireland Coach

Brian Kerr has succeeded Mick McCarthy as coach of the Republic of Ireland. Kerr has enjoyed
phenomenal success with Ireland's youth teams guiding the U-16s and U-18s to European
Championship success in 1998 and finishing 3rd in the 1999 World Youth Cup.

Kirkland Out For Season

Liverpool goalkeeper Chris Kirkland will be out for the rest of the season after a collision with
Crystal Palace striker Dele Adebola left him with torn ligaments during a fourth round FA Cup tie.

Juve President Agnelli Dies

Juventus honorary president Giovanni Agnelli has died at the age of 81 after losing a battle with
prostrate cancer. Giovanni's father, Edoardo, took charge of Juventus in 1923 and was killed in a
plane crash in 1935. Giovanni was in charge of Juventus between 1947-1953. His brother Umberto
succeeded him as president and holds that position today.

Zebina Struck By Rare Virus

Roma defender Jonathan Zebina has been hospitalised with a rare and faces a lengthy spell out of
the game. Roma's club doctor said :

"Zebina has a rare inflammation that has caused a serious depression of his immunity defences.

His lymph nodes are seriously inflamed."

Facchetti Questions Galliani's Role In Milan's Penalties

"The problem regarding Galliani's position (president of the FIGC) is still unresolved. A balance of
nine penalties in favour (of Milan) and none against in seventeen matches represents, in my opinion,
an embarrassing tally - not only for us, but also for (Milan's) other adversaries."

Deportivo's 40 year old Brazilian defender Donato has become the oldest goalscorer in the history
of Spanish football with his goal against Athletic Bilbao.

Fiorese Banned For Playacting

PSG striker Fabrice Fiorese has become the first player in the French league to be banned for
playacting after a disciplinary committee found him guilty of feigning injury to get a opposition player
sent off. PSG's president felt Fiorese deserved no more than a yellow card.

Having secured a loan from a bank Lazio have finally settled the back payments owed to players.
