"I've
spent the last few months wrestling with the biggest

my last chance of playing international football. Now
I've made up my mind and
I'm looking forward to it.". Leicester midfielder

interest from England coach

winner on his Serie A debut against Inter in mid
December.
Michel Platini claimed Zinedine Zidane is the last
classic playmaker -
"There aren't any of them left thanks to coaches
emphasis on collective
organisation". Typical Platini bullshit. He is under
the illusion that it's
not possible for creative players to excel in modern
football due to a greater
emphasis on workrate by coaches. The likes of Totti and
Nakata combine
creativity with workrate and are far more productive than
Zidane.
"There is no point trying to hide it, we're not in
the sparkling form we were
before. I think it's a mental problem. We're not tetchy
but there is tension
because of results.". Lazio captain Allesandro Nesta

The
following comments were made by George Best in Brussels
where he
was inducted into the FIFA Hall of Champions. Apparently
his tirade
was tongue in cheek.
On David Beckham :

with his left foot, he
doesn't score many goals, he can't head a ball and he
can't tackle. Apart
from that he's all right."
On Eric Cantona, voted Man United's best ever player on
an Internet Pole :
"Eric Cantona was a great player although his kung
fu wasn't very good. The
people who voted for Eric never saw me play. The people
voting on the
Internet would be too young. But I'm not happy to finish
second to Eric
Cantona. I don't mind finishing second to Pele but not to
Cantona."
On Brazil :
"I grew up in Belfast dreaming of playing for
Brazil, and I
always wanted to be a Brazilian. They are my type of
people."

Inter coach Marcello Lippi has made the following
comments regarding the
teams disastrous league campaign :
"We've no more alibis, and there's no defence for
me. If they put everyone
here at Inter on trial, I would get a life sentence - and
that's only because
the death penalty doesn't exist in Italy. I haven't lost
faith. There are
the right technical and mental qualities in this team to
overcome the
difficulties we have at the moment. As for myself, I feel
bitter and
disappointed for the state of affairs, I realise all too
well that I'm not
repaying the faith which people have shown me. But I feel
that I'm
supported. Sooner or later, the good times will come for
us too, they
have to."
