beating yesterday's strike by Anthony Pilkington for the quickest of the season so far. Gervinho made the running and his square ball was
collected by the Dutchman who drilled a low shot into the bottom corner. Van Persie was desperately unlucky not to double matters with a
brilliant turn and chip which hit the inside of the post and rebounded across goal to safety. Sunderland levelled on the half hour with a
cracking 25 free kick from Sebastien Larsson which flew into the top corner. The hosts won it late as Van Persie emulated Larsson with an
excellent free kick from the right edge of the area.

Newcastle came from behind twice at earn a point at home to Spurs. The first half was fairly tentative until the final five minutes which saw
Spurs take the lead through a Rafael Van Der Vaart penalty, converted confidently after Steven Taylor's leading leg tripped Emmanuel Adebayor
although the ref took plenty of time to award the kick. Newcastle took just over two minutes of the second half to level matters as a superb
run by Jonas Gutierrez saw his chipped cross tapped in at the far post by Demba Ba as keeper Brad Friedel tried his utmost to keep it out.
Spurs regained the lead when Scott Parker found sub Jermaine Defoe and in one swift movement, he took a touch, turned and fizzed a low drive
past the keeper from the edge of the area. It was a Newcastle sub who then levelled things up again as a touch forward from Cabaye found
Shola Ameobi who made space in the area and belted a shot across goal which arrowed inside the far post.

LIVERPOOL 1 (Gerrard 68)
MANCHESTER UNITED 1 (Hernandez 81)
Man United came from behind at Anfield to draw at Liverpool in what Sir Alex Ferguson called the biggest club game in the world. High praise
indeed but the first half was a tad anti-climatic as a spectacle and only after the break did things come alive. Liverpool led when Charlie
Adam went down after a minimal touch from Rio Ferdinand and from the resulting free kick, Steven Gerrard caught United out with a low shot
around the wall which left the keeper standing. Enter sub Javier Hernandez and within five minutes, he grabbed an equaliser as a corner
by Nani was flicked on by Danny Wellbeck and nodded in by the Mexican.

Man City go two points clear at the top as they thumped Aston Villa. City led narrowly at the interval as Mario Balotelli showed his
brilliance with an excellent overhead kick after Micah Richards had helped the ball into his path from a corner. They went into overdrive
with two quick fire goals after the interval as Adam Johnson rolled the ball in having been sent clear by Yaya Toure and then Johnson's corner
was headed in by Vincent Kompany. Villa pulled one back as Stephen Warnock thumped the ball in at the far post after Gabriel Agbonlahor's
cross wasn't dealt with but City had the last word as James Milner netted against his former club with a fine first time shot after being
set up by Gareth Barry.

the quickest of the season so far as Anthony Pilkington volleyed in Steve Morison's header after just 48 seconds. They doubled matters on
ten minutes with a Russell Martin header from David Fox's cross. Swansea pulled one back inside two minutes as Scott Sinclair did superbly to
find Danny Graham who squeezed a shot inside the far post. The hosts clinched it after the break with Pilkington again finding the net on the
turn from close range after Bradley Johnson hooked the ball across goal.

WIGAN 1 (Reo-Coker 4)

Entertain game at the DW Stadium as Bolton deservedly saw off Wigan. The visitors led inside four minutes thanks to Nigel Reo-Coker bundled in a
cross from Chris Eagles at the near post. Wigan equalised when Mohamed Diame curled in a beauty from 25 yards after good work from Ben Watson.
In first half stoppage time, Bolton regained the lead as Steve Gohouri lost possession to Kevin Davies and his cross was controlled and drilled
in low by David N'Gog. Bolton should have settled it from the penalty spot but Davies's weak effort was saved by Ali Al Habsi after Gary
Caldwell bundled over Boyata but they wrapped it up late on when Ivan Klasnic found Eagles who turned the defence inside out before
slotting low into the corner.

CHELSEA 3 (Sturridge 31, Terry 45, Ramires 61)
EVERTON 1 (Vellios 81)
Chelsea kept up the pressure on the two Manchester clubs with a home win against Everton. The visitors began well and frustrated Everton for half
an hour before a lovely move put the hosts ahead. Juan Mata's chip forward sent Ashley Cole away inside the area and his first time cross
on the half volley was nodded in at close range by Daniel Sturridge. If that was a little harsh on Everton, it became worse in first half
stoppage time as Frank Lampard's free kick tempted keeper Tim Howard off of his line and John Terry nodded in among a crowd of players. On the
hour, Chelsea added a third as Didier Drogba found Mata on the left and his low cross was bundled in from close range by Ramires and although
Everton pulled one back with super sub Vellios tapping in Royston Drenthe's cross just 18 seconds after coming on, it was too
little, too late.
