SWANSEA 0
ASTON VILLA 0

Drab goalless draw at the Liberty Stadium as Swansea and Aston Villa played in an encounter overshadowed by the sad, untimely death of Gary Speed earlier in the day.

LIVERPOOL 1 (Lescott 33 og)
MANCHESTER CITY 1 (Kompany 31)

Man City remain unbeaten in the league this season after a draw at Anfield against Liverpool. City took the lead just after the half hour mark as David Silva's drilled corner was diverted in by Vincent Kompany who went for a header but it actually sailed inside the far post via his shoulder! The lead lasted just two minutes as the hosts were gifted an equaliser as Charlie Adam's long range effort was heading well wide only for Joleon Lescott to stick out a foot and send the ball into his own net with keeper Joe Hart totally wrong-footed. Liverpool had the better of the second half but may have fared better if Luis Suarez could learn to stay on his feet a little more. With seven minutes to go, sub Mario Balotelli collected his second booking in five minutes as he led with his arm in a challenge with Martin Skrtel and was red carded to the annoyance of his manager. Suarez almost won it late on but his crisp shot was pushed away by Hart whilst Silva should have done similar for City but took far too long with only the keeper to beat and his effort was easily blocked by one of three on the line. In the last minute, sub Andy Carroll's header was brilliantly tipped away as the league leaders held on for a point.

Red Card : Balotelli 83 (Manchester City)

STOKE 3 (Delap 28, Whelan 58, Crouch 72)
BLACKBURN 1 (Rochina 86)

Blackburn remain firmly at the foot of the table after crashing to defeat at Stoke. The hosts led when Jermaine Pennant's free kick was glanced into the net via the head of Rory Delap and before the hour they doubled the lead as a superb run and cross from Matt Etherington found Jonathon Walters who set up Glenn Whelan who drilled in from the edge of the area courtesy of two deflections. A long ball forward by Marc Wilson sent Peter Crouch through to slide in the third and although Rovers did finish well after Steven Nzonzi found Ruben Rochina to curl in a beauty from the edge of the area, Stoke held on for their first win in five games.

Attendance : 26,686
Assists : Pennant, Walters, Wilson, Nzonzi

BOLTON 0
EVERTON 2 (Fellaini 49, Vellios 78)

Bolton remain in the drop zone after their ten men slumped to defeat at home to Everton. David Wheater was the man red carded, possibly unluckily, for a lunging challenge on Diniyar Bilyaletdinov - the quickest Premier League dismissal of the season so far. Everton went ahead just after half time when Marouane Fellaini crashed in a low cross from Bilyaletdinov and they clinched it late on as Vellios tapped in after Tim Cahill had done brilliantly to keep a deep cross in play.

Attendance : 24,058
Red Card : Wheater 20 (Bolton)
Assists : Bilyaletdinov, Cahill

CHELSEA 3 (Terry 7, Sturridge 29, Mata 45)
WOLVES 0

Chelsea ended their recent poor home league form with a comfortable win against Wolves. All three goals came in the first half, starting with John Terry headed in a Juan Mata corner. The lead was doubled just before the half hour as Mata crossed for Daniel Sturridge to score from close range and then Mata grabbed a deserved goal of his own when he swept in Ashley Cole's cross.

Attendance : 41,648
Assists : Mata, Mata, Cole

MANCHESTER UNITED 1 (Hernandez 49)
NEWCASTLE 1 (Ba 64 Pen)

Newcastle held second placed Man United at Old Trafford thanks to a controversial second half penalty. The Champions led in freak style as Wayne Rooney's shot found the net via team mate Javier Hernandez who knew next to nothing about it after Steven Taylor's attempted clearance thudded against the Mexican. Then came the penalty, awarded against Rio Ferdinand despite him clearly playing the ball as he tackled Hatem Ben Arfa. The linesman appeared to give the spot kick despite the referee being a lot closer to the incident. It made little difference to Demba Ba who made no mistake from the spot. United threw everything at Newcastle late on, especially after Jonas Gutierrez was sent off for his second bookable offence - a clattering challenge on Nani - as Ashley Young hit the post, keeper Tim Krul made a stunning save from Nemanja Vidic and Hernandez had a last second goal correctly ruled out for offside.

Attendance : 75,594
Red Card : Gutierrez 78 (Newcastle)
Assists : n/a, Ben Arfa (won pen)

NORWICH 2 (Martin 15, Holt 73)
QPR 1 (Young 59)

Norwich move into ninth with a narrow win against QPR. They led early when a corner wasn't dealt with and Russell Martin fired in from six yards. Rangers levelled things up after the interval as Luke Young side-footed in after Jamie Mackie's shot had thudded against the post however Norwich regained the lead when Wes Hoolahan crossed for fellow sub Grant Holt to stoop and nod in from close range.

Attendance : 26,781
Assists : Surman, n/a, Hoolahan

SUNDERLAND 1 (Larsson 8)
WIGAN 2 (Gomez 44 Pen, Di Santo 93)

Wigan ended their dismal run with a last minute winner at Sunderland, despite being outplayed for long spells. Sunderland led early on when Sebastien Larsson shot home after keeper Ali Al Habsi spilled a shot from Bendtner. The hosts should have wrapped it up before the interval only for Wigan to level just before half time as Jordi Gomez netted from the penalty spot following Larsson's trip on Victor Moses. The game looked to be heading for a draw until the third minute of injury time as Wes Brown lost possession to James McArthur on the edge of his own area and as the keeper came out, he squared it for Franco Di Santo slot into an empty net.

Attendance : 37,883
Assists : Richardson, Moses (won pen), McArthur

WEST BROM 1 (Mulumbu 10)
TOTTENHAM 3 (Adebayor 25, Defoe 81, Adebayor 93)

Emmanuel Adebayor scored twice for the second successive game as Spurs came from behind to beat West Brom. The Baggies took the lead as Youssef Mulumbu headed in Steven Reid's excellent cross. Spurs were level by the break after Nicky Shorey bundled over Aaron Lennon in the area and although Adebayor's spot kick was saved by Ben Foster, he forced in the rebound. Nine minutes from time Spurs went ahead when Jermaine Defoe collected a flick from Adebayor and ran half the length of the pitch before firing in from the edge of the area. Adebayor wrapped it up in stoppage time by slotting in Gareth Bale's pass.

Attendance : 24,801
Assists : Reid, n/a, Adebayor, Bale

ARSENAL 1 (Vermaelen 82)
FULHAM 1 (Vermaelen 65 og)

Fulham gained a creditable point at the Emirates against Arsenal as Thomas Vermaelen netted at both ends. After a drab first half, Arsenal came close to taking the lead when Robin Van Persie twisted and turned in the area only for Chris Baird to bundle the ball off the line. It proved vital as Fulham took a shock lead shortly after the hour when a ball into the area was latched upon by John Arne Riise who chested the ball down for Bobby Zamora, however as Vermaelen went to clear the ball, he sliced it badly and it bobbled into his own net. Johan Djourou almost levelled but his header was kept out by a stunningly good save by Mark Schwarzer at point blank range, however they did level matters as Vermaelen made up for his earlier error when he nodded in a cross from Theo Walcott.

Attendance : 60,043
Assists : n/a, Walcott
