TOTTENHAM 2 (Adebayor 14, Adebayor 40)
ASTON VILLA 0

Spurs move into third with an easy win at home to Aston Villa. After a decent early spell from Villa, the hosts made the breakthrough as a corner was only cleared to the edge of the area and after Gareth Bale volleyed the ball goal wards, Emmanuel Adebayor hooked it in from six yards out. The same pair combined for the second as Bale's low cross saw James Collins get a slight touch at the near post to divert it away from his own keeper, allowing Adebayor to tap in from close range. After the break, Adebayor twice came close to his hat trick whilst Kyle Walker also shot just wide. It was far too comfortable for Spurs and Villa barely posed a threat.

CHELSEA 1 (Sturridge 55)
LIVERPOOL 2 (Rodriguez 34, Johnson 87)

Liverpool move level on points with London trio Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea after an excellent win at the latter of the three. Liverpool led just after the half hour as Chelsea shot themselves in the foot as John Obi Mikel lost possession 30 yards from his own goal and after some good interchange of passing, Craig Bellamy found Maxi Rodriguez to clip the ball over Petr Cech who came from his line to try and block. Chelsea began the second half well and half time sub Daniel Sturridge levelled matters at the far post after Florent Malouda bobbled an effort across goal. With seven minutes left, enter former Liverpool duo Fernando Torres and Raul Meireles for the hosts, however it was an ex-Chelsea man playing for the visitors who struck minutes later as a long ball from Charlie Adam found Glen Johnson on the right and he cut inside, leaving two men in his wake, and slotted low into the bottom corner for an excellent solo effort.

Attendance : 41,820
Assist : Bellamy, Malouda, Adam

NORWICH 1 (Morison 16)
ARSENAL 2 (Van Persie 27, Van Persie 59)

Robin Van Persie scored twice as Arsenal came from behind to see off Norwich. The hosts led early when Marc Tierney's pass should have been dealt with by Per Mertesacker, however he was robbed by Steve Morison who then slid the ball past the keeper. Enter Van Persie to equalise when he tapped in from close range after an excellent piece of skill and superb low cross from Theo Walcott. The Gunners clinched the win after the break with Alex Song setting up Van Persie again who drilled in a shot at the near post.

Attendance : 26,801
Assists : Tierney, Walcott, Song

EVERTON 2 (Jagielka 44, Baines 83 Pen)
WOLVES 1 (Hunt 37 Pen)

A tale of two penalties at Goodison as Everton eased past Wolves after going behind. The first spot kick went to the visitors in controversial fashion as Marouane Fellaini fouled David Edwards right on the edge of the area. Replays suggested it was marginally outside but the ref awarded a spot kick, converted by Stephen Hunt. The hosts levelled matters when Phil Jagielka headed in a free kick from Leighton Baines and it was the provider who won the match for his side when he blazed home the second penalty of the game after Ward's minor shove on Louis Saha was enough to be judged a foul.

Attendance : 33,953
Assists : Edwards (won pen), Baines, Saha (won pen)

MANCHESTER CITY 3 (Balotelli 41 Pen, Richards 44, Aguero 72 Pen)
NEWCASTLE 1 (Gosling 89)

Man City remain clear at the top as the only two unbeaten clubs in the Premier League met with Newcastle coming off second best. They had chances to go ahead before City struck twice before the interval. The first came from the penalty spot after Yaya Toure's shot was blocked by the arm of Ryan Taylor. Mario Balotelli converted with ease and 'celebrate' with folded arms and a scowl! Three minutes later Samir Nasri slotted the ball through for Micah Richards to fire in the second. Richards was involved with the third as he was clattered in the area by Hatem Ben Arfa and with Balotelli substituted, Sergio Aguero made no mistake from the spot. Newcastle grabbed a late consolation when Dan Gosling thumped the ball into an empty net from close range after Demba Ba's shot was half saved.

STOKE 2 (Walter 8, Shawcross 64)
QPR 3 (Helguson 22, Young 44, Helguson 54)

Cracking game at the Britannia as QPR edged a five goal thriller at Stoke. The hosts led early when Peter Crouch set up Jonathon Walters to drill home from the edge of the area but Rangers battled back and were all square when Armand Traore's excellent cross was brilliantly headed in by Heidar Helguson. Just before the interval the visitors went ahead when Jamie Mackie's cross was turned in by Luke Young and nine minutes into the second half, Helguson grabbed his second with a far post header from Joey Barton's cross. Stoke pulled one back when Ryan Shawcross converted from close range after Crouch had helped on a cross but they couldn't muster up an equaliser.

Attendance : 27,618
Assists : Crouch, Traore, Mackie, Faurlin, Crouch

SUNDERLAND 0
FULHAM 0

Sunderland and Fulham are both in the bottom six after a goalless draw at the Stadium of Light. Sunderland began well with both Kieron Richardson and Jack Colback hitting the bar in the opening 15 minutes. Fulham came close when Dickson Etuhu's header was nodded off the line.

WEST BROM 2 (Thomas 16, Long 56)
BOLTON 1 (Klasnic 21 Pen)

West Brom moved into the top half of the table after a narrow win against struggling Bolton who remain in the drop zone. The Baggies led when Zoltan Gera sent Jerome Thomas through and after rounding the keeper he fired in. Bolton drew level when Thomas turned from hero to villain as he bundled over Fabrice Muamba in the area and Ivan Klasnic slotted home from the penalty spot. The hosts clinched the win after the break as Shane Long found a fine header from a cross by Nicky Shorey.

Attendance : 26,221
Assists : Gera, Muamba (won pen), Shorey

WIGAN 3 (Jordi 8, Caldwell 31, Crusat 88)
BLACKBURN 3 (Yakubu 2, Hoilett 60, Yakubu 98 Pen)

The bottom two in the table served up a controversial thriller as Wigan and Blackburn shared six goals in a game that had just about everything. It started in promising fashion as Yakubu latched onto a flick on by Steven Nzonzi and after Gary Caldwell hesitated, he nipped in and just lobbed his effort inside the far post. Within five minutes the hosts were level when a cross was cleared to Jordi Gomez who fired his shot inside the near post from the right edge of the area. Caldwell then made up for his earlier error by heading in a corner from David Jones to put Wigan ahead and it looked to be going their way even more after the break when David Dunn was sent off for his second bookable offence after a foul on Mohamed Diame. Major controversy followed ten minutes later as Blackburn were awarded a corner and although the ball was placed in the quadrant by Yakubu, he never actually took the corner, however Morten Gamst Pedersen then dribbled the ball from the corner flag into the area, fired across goal and it was nodded in at the far post by David Hoillet. Despite mass protests, the illegal goal stood! Justice seemed to be done with two minutes of regulation time left as Wigan edged ahead again when Hugo Rodallega's nod down fell nicely for Albert Crusat whose low drive seemed to go under keeper Paul Robinson. The Rovers stopper was urged forward for a late corner as Blackburn went for a dramatic equaliser and as the ball looked to be falling for him, he went for a header only to be kicked in the face by Jones and the referee rightly awarded a penalty. A bloodied Robinson looked on as team mate Yakubu levelled from the penalty spot nine minutes into stoppage time.

Attendance : 17,392
Assists : Nzonzi, n/a, Jones, Pedersen, Rodallega, Robinson (won pen)

SWANSEA 0
MANCHESTER UNITED 1 (Hernandez 11)

Man United remain on the heels of Man City after a narrow in at Swansea in South Wales. Swansea began well but an individual error from Angel Rangel who gifted the ball to Ryan Giggs on the edge of his own area and his cross was easy for Javier Hernandez to tap in despite being off-balance. Amazingly the Mexican became the first visiting player to score at the Liberty Stadium since last February! The hosts missed a glorious chance to level when Scott Sinclair miss-kicked six yards out with the net gaping but the first half was largely uneventful. After the break Swansea again began well but struggled to create chances and it was United who almost added to the lead late on when Phil Jones thudded a shot against the foot of the post.

Attendance : 20,295
Assist : Giggs
