Modric wrong footed a defender on the edge of the box before whipping a shot inside the right post. Excellent goal. A superb header across goal left Ronaldo with a tap-in at the back post. He missed a late penalty.

Saviola fired the Greeks in front after Fuster's awful shot fell kindly at his feet. Naha played a fantastic ball around the back-tracking Olympiakos defence and Praet pushed the ball on for Kljestan to equalise. Kouyate was sent off for spiking a shot, Saviola's penalty was saved. Fuster hammered a shot into the ground and Saviola threw himself to acrobatically volley in his second. N'Sakala chopped down Weiss but he missed the resulting penalty. N'Sakala was sent off for bringing down Weiss and when they won a third penalty Proto wasn't around to save it, having been sent off for fouling Weiss. Striker Petkovic went in goal and dived the right way but Dominguez's penalty was too well struck.

Cavani tapped PSG into the lead after Menez drove a centre across goal. A criminal foul gave Benfica a penalty - Traore should have been shown ten red cards for head butting Silvio in the face. On the hour mark Pereira fired a centre into the box, Traore stuck out a leg and Gaitan pounced to stab home the winner.

No one bothered to defend Horvath's cross, leaving Kolar with a free header. More terrible defending gifted Plzen the winner, Wagner lashed in a half volley after pulling down Rajtoral's cross. Vernbloom kicked out at a Viktoria Plzen player when lining up in the wall for a Honda free kick. Honda smashed it into the wall as he heads for Milan and CSKA out of Europe.

Dante hit a crossfield pass inside Kolarov (both of City's full-backs are a weak link) and Muller left him playing catch-up before beating Hart. Gotze tapped in the second after City failed to clear a corner. Milner turned in a man of the match performance to give City an unlikely victory and end Bayern's record of 10 straight wins in the competition. Silva pulled a goal back after Milner rescued a deflected cross then dived for the penalty. Boateng embarrassed himself when lashing at thin air and hopelessly missing a Navas centre which Milner fired into the right corner.
