The Muscovites took the lead completely against the run of play when Edu turned in Caner's centre. Fenerbahce were level two minutes later. Alex took a loose ball on his chest and from about 25 yards slammed a half volley into the top left corner of the net. Alex dribbled his way past two CSKA defenders before playing in Ugur with a perfectly weighted pass and the midfielder's first time shot beat Akinfeev at his near post. CSKA were on the ropes for most of the second half and held out until the 90th minute when Ugur headed in Aurelio's cross.

When attempting to clear a cross, Edu sliced the ball against Cruz and it bounced off his knee past a helpless Demirel. Another left wing cross, this time provided by Chivu, was missed by three defenders and landed at Ibrahimovic's feet, he killed the ball stone dead as Roberto Carlos ran to cover, stood completely still for a split second then curled into the top right corner. Fenerbahce were carved open down their right for a third time, Cambiasso playing in Jimenez for his first Champions League goal.
In light of Vieira's injury problems Inter need to sign a DM in the transfer window. Cambiasso, like his national team colleague Zanetti, is a choker.

With his back to goal wiry 20 year old Brazilian striker Jo turned Samuel, as he was kicked, raced up the right
wing, cut infield and playing a one-two with Wagner Love before unleashing a stunning left foot shot past Julio Cesar.
Carvalho sent Love racing clear of three defenders on the break to double CSKA's lead. Ibrahimovic began the comeback from a Chivu free kick. Two minutes later Crespo dummied a Maicon pass leaving the unmarked Cambiasso to equalise. A clever set piece put Inter in the driving seat. Cruz flicked on a low corner and Cambiasso took advantage of the confusion to shoot first time past Akinfeev. With his back to goal Ibrahimovic turned onto a Maxwell pass, taking out two defenders and from 20 yards beat Akinfeev all ends up with a wicked, dipping shot. Brilliant player, brilliant performance. Even without Vieira and Adriano this squad is good enough to win the competition.

Marcellis turned former Sheffield United striker Kazim Richards, now listed as Kazim Kazim on some websites, centre into his own net. Semih played a double one-two with Alex before beating the advancing Gomes with a low drive.
Fenerbahce are looking good for a place in the last 16 and if they get a favourable draw could get as far as the quarter-finals.

Vieira lasted 17 minutes into his second game following his weekend comeback. He's done. Two of CSKA's Brazilians combined for the opening goal. Jo turned onto Carvalho's pass, almost knocking over Cordoba in the process, killed the ball dead and with Julio Cesar guarding his near post curled a right foot shot into the opposite corner. Fantastic goal. Under pressure after failing to clear a corner, Krasic headed Cambiasso's pass back to Crespo and he volleyed past Mandrykin. Champions League choker Ibrahimovic looked to have wasted Inter's best chance, blazing over with the goal at his mercy but Mandrykin bailed him out when he flapped at Samuel's tame header.
Figo became the sixth player to make 100 Champions League appearances. The other five are Kahn, Raul, Bobby Carlos, Beckham and of course Maldini.

Kromkamp wrestled Ibrahimovic to the ground to concede an early penalty which the Swede thumped past Gomes. Zanetti started a counter attack as Inter were defending a corner, he carried the ball 70 yards before wisely passing to Figo who over-hit his cross to the back post however from a terrible angle Ibrahimovic's header, almost certainly intended for Crespo, dropped into the bottom corner.
Inter won this match despite the fact that Greek referee Kyros Vassaras and his linesman didn't understand the rules of the game. Having been booked in the first half for what the ref must have thought was an elbow but was in reality a normal challenge for a 50-50 ball in the air, Chivu got a second yellow for kicking Cullina. On full time after consulting with his linesmen the referee sent off Suazo for 'head-butting' Salcido as he backed into the defender after knocking on a cross, it was clearly accident and an absolutely ludicrous decision.

Some fabulous defending in this match. Aurelio tried to dribble through the Fenerbahce defence and slipped as he shot, the ball took a deflection and as Mandrykin came off his line to claim it, Berezutski decided to give him a helping head and sliced his clearance straight on Alex's head, 0-1. Edu tried to clear a long ball with Krasic breathing down his neck but under-hit his back pass, Krasic chased the ball down, shot straight at Demirel and before the 'keeper could clear, gave him a forearm smash to the face and slammed home from a yard out. Edu wasn't having a good day and conceded the penalty with a clumsy challenge on Love. Deivid turned on a pass and unleashed a wicked, swerving shot from 35 yards which bounced right in front of Mandrykin on it's way into the net.

Perez played a one-two in midfield before bursting forward, taking two defenders with him, and centring to Lazovic who dug the ball out of his feet before beating the advancing Mandrykin. Perez doubled PSV's lead with a thunderous shot from the edge of the box. Zhirkov released Love, Gomes flew out of his box to clear and completely missed, leaving the Brazilian to poke into an empty net.
