SERIE A ROUND 25

TWO GOALS UP, OH BOLLOCKS

Lazio stage a late comeback to deny Inter three points at the Olimpico.
Roma crash away to Cagliari. Milan's miserable recent form continues as they
leave the San Siro with only a point against lowly Verona. Juve bounce back
from their humiliating mid-week defeat against Celta Vigo to see off Piacenza
and open up a six point lead at the top.

11 MARCH 2000

BOLOGNA 1-1 VENEZIA
Andersson 56 Ganz 29

Paramatti's attempted clearance fell to Berg and as Ingesson challenged him
for the ball it broke to Ganz and he slotted in. Ingesson headed Tonetto's cross
against the post. Andersson equalised when Venezia screwed up their offside
trap. Bologna created several clear cut chances but were let down by Chelsea
finishing.

LAZIO 2-2 INTER
S Inzaghi 82 Recoba 19
Pancaro 87 Di Biagio 79

Lazio laid siege to Inter's goal throughout the match. Nedved wasted their
best early chance, blazing wide from Pancaro's centre. Di Biagio picked out
Recoba who brilliantly made space for himself with a subtle touch before
firing past Marchegiani who really should have done better. Salas and Cordoba
where all over each other when chasing a ball, both players went down near
the box, Cordoba was sent off.

Peruzzi made a fantastic block from Nedved. Ravanelli come on at the start
of the second half and wasted two great chances, one from a header and an
unbelievable miss from Salas's centre. Peruzzi made a great low dive to
keep out another Veron thunderbolt, Salas pathetically kicked the rebound
into the ground. Salas had a goal incorrectly disallowed for offside (at
least from angle I saw). Panucci picked out Seedorf with a fabulous
cross field pass and he laid a chance on a plate for Di Biagio to put Inter
two goals up. Peruzzi made another phenomenal save from a violent Pancaro
shot and Simic cleared the rebound off the line. Pancaro's cross deflected
off Stankovic onto the post and Inzaghi poked in the rebound. Peruzzi punched
out a cross straight to Pancaro who brilliantly chipped the ball into the
net. A rare Inter attack saw Marchegiani save a Di Biagio free kick.

A deserved point of Lazio but you can't help thinking the red card played
a big part in the result.

12 MARCH 2000

CAGLIARI 1-0 ROMA
Mboma 44

Antonioli made a fantastic save from Mboma and Tomassi deflected De Patre's
follow-up out for a corner, taken by O'Neill, headed in by Mboma. Totti
blasted a shot off the crossbar. Antonioli made another great save from
O'Neill, two in one match from him, must be a record. A very lethargic display
by Roma.

MILAN 3-3 VERONA
Albertini 17 Apolloni 53
Shevchenko 34, 61 (Pen) Laursen 55
							Cammarata 94

Serginho struck a shot off the inside of a post. Albertini gave Milan the
lead when Frey made a hash of his free kick. Albertini stole a ball in
midfield(!) and picked out Shevchenko with a great pass, he beat Frey with
ease.

Chamot was harshly sent off for a nothing challenge on Cammarata and Milan
fell apart. Marasco flicked on Morfeo's corner and the Milan defence watched
old man Apolloni waltz in to score. Abbiati gifted Verona their equaliser,
he came out to meet Marasco's cross but Laursen got their first. Apolloni
kick Maldini in the box, he ran forward and then threw himself to the ground.
Shevchenko just about beat Frey. Jose Mari drew out Frey and shot wide.
Marasco completed his hat-trick of assists, Cammarata beautifully heading his
perfect cross low past Abbiati.

Rumour has it that Galliani saved Zac from getting the boot last week
following Milan's defeat against Inter. Will he jump or will get be pushed?

Attendance : 55,000
Red Card(s) : Chamot 51 (Milan)

PERUGIA 2-2 LECCE
Calori 79 Sesa 65
Cappioli 84 Lucarelli 74 (Pen)

Chimenti made two excellent early saves from Rapajic and an awesome
diving header by Calori. Lecce took the lead following a couple of
ricochets in the box, Lucarelli bounced the ball off his chest and Sesa
volleyed past Mazzantini. Ripa flattened Conticchio in the box, Lucarelli
converted the penalty in off the post. Calori headed in from a fantastic
Rapajic free kick. Bisoli launched a ball into the box, Ripa headed the ball
down, Cappioli bounced it off his knee and smacked a half volley past
Chimenti. Another brilliant goal. Conticchio wasted a great chance when
put through brilliantly by Lucarelli.

PIACENZA 0-2 JUVENTUS
							Inzaghi 68, 74

Di Napoli wasted a great chance from Rastelli's cross. Rizzitelli hammered
a shot off the crossbar, Marone messed up the rebound. Inzaghi should have
been booked for diving, what's new? Inzaghi poked in a goal bound Del Piero
free kick which must have pleased him no end. Bagnacani made a half arsed
attempt to cut out a Del Piero cross, Inzaghi helped himself to a second goal.
Del Piero shot over from close range and new signing Maresca did his
team-mates proud with a Juve classic dive in the box. So that's what the
cheating vermin learn in training these days.

Attendance : 20,000

REGGINA 0-0 UDINESE

Fiore shot inches wide from an outrageous drag back and reverse back heel
from Locatelli. Cozza blasted a shot wide.

Attendance : 23,503

TORINO 1-0 FIORENTINA
Ferrante 20

A fabulous goal by Ferrante earned Torino three points. He ran onto a
hospital pass, passed wide to Brambilla who sent the ball into Silenzi,
he flicked the ball forward and Ferrante blasted a right foot volley past
Toldo. Mijatovic went close with a free kick.

Silenzi headed over from Lentini's cross. Bucci made a fantastic save from
Bressan's half volley, Toldo from Lentini. If Fiorentina play like this
against Man United they'll get hammered

The new TIM (Telecom Italia Mobile) model isn't a patch on the last one.

Attendance : 20,000

BARI 0-1 PARMA
							Amoroso 46

Perrotta flashed a shot wide at the end of the first half. At the start of
the second Amoroso headed in Walem's corner. Buffon made a brilliant double
save, first from Spinesi's header and then a phenomenal reaction save from
De Gregorio's follow up. Di Vaio wasted a one on one with Mancini.
