Serie A Round 33

Marchegiani saves a penalty but it's not enough as Lazio are held at
Fiorentina while Milan hammer Empoli go top for the first time since they
won the championship back in 1996. Sampdoria and Vicenza are relegated
leaving Salernitana, Perugia, Cagliari and Piacenza one more week to fight
for survival. Parma and Fiorentina claim the final Champions League places

Heinrich missed an open goal from a close range header before Batistuta gave
the Viola the lead with a his trademark shot across goal from a superb
Edmundo pass. Vieri headed Lazio level from a Mihajlovic free kick.
Vieri headed a shot against the crossbar. Lazio seemed to have a good case
for a penalty when Tarozzi hauled down Vieri? The camera angle wasn't
conclusive. Fiorentina where then awarded a penalty of their own when Nesta
pulled down Batistuta. Rui Costa blasted the penalty at Marchegiani.

headed the rebound back across goal and Conte headed past Mancini. Crap
match.

BOLOGNA 2-2 SAMPDORIA
Ingesson 27, 93 (Pen) Montella 5, 38

Montella gave Samp the lead from a free kick. Ingesson headed in Signori's
corner. Montella looked miles offside when he volleyed Samp back into the
lead. Bologna should have been awarded a penalty when Balleri kicked
Simutenkov in the box. Simutenkov got his revenge when he threw himself to
the ground under a non tackle, Ingesson converted and sent down Samp into
Serie B.

PARMA 0-1 PIACENZA
							S Inzaghi 30

Sensini tried to foul Inzaghi in the box and incredibly he stayed on his
feet, powered his way past Sensini and tucked the ball under Buffon's legs.
As I have said before Inzaghi is hugely talented it's just a shame he
would rather take a penalty than shoot. Veron blasted a shot against the
post, Crespo horribly miss kicked the rebound.

Totti scored from Paulo Sergio's cross and Di Francesco made it 2-0 with

bullet header from Di Biagio's free kick.

Red Card(s) : Tedesco 72 (Perugia)

VENEZIA 3-1 INTER
Volpi 1 Ronaldo 51 (Pen)

Maniero 18

When Volpi initially struck the ball from outside the box it seemed to be
sailing over the bar but dipped wickedly in off the post at the last minute.
3 minutes later Inter were 2-0 down, Recoba with his free kick special.
Baggio struck the crossbar with a free kick, Djorkaeff missed an open goal
from the rebound. Maniero made it 3-0 with a header from a fabulous
Carnasciali cross. Ronaldo won himself another penalty with a pathetic dive
but didn't miss this week.
