cannot save his team from defeat but Ventola rescues a point for Inter with two

FIORENTINA 2-0 EMPOLI
Rui Costa 6
Batistuta 60

Rui Costa let fly with a missile from outside the box and Batistuta pounced on an
attempted clearance following good work by Rui Costa, it was NOT an assist by
Rui Costa as reported by those so called sports journalists at Reuters. Interesting
camera shot at the beginning of the match showing a huge Manga (Jap cartoon)
flag of a naked women, the message read Gruppo Cioccra or Cioccba, I take it
they're Ultras?

Red Card(s) : Edmundo 62 (Fiorentina), Fusco 62 (Empoli)

ROMA 3-1 SALERNITANA
P Sergio 46, 82 Song 41
Totti 61

Song poked in a shot/cross at the near post. Sergio scored the first of his headers
from Alenitchev's cross and the second from Tommassi. In between Totti blasted
Frau's back heel into the bottom corner from about 20 yds out.

Red Card(s) : Fusco 45 (Salernitana)

UDINESE 2-2 SAMPDORIA
Bachini 15 Bertotto 33 (og)
Amoroso 42 Montella 37

Bachini whacked in Amoroso's pass, Castellini's long range shot deflected off
Bertotto, Montella ran onto a hospital pass and chipped Turci before Amoroso
grabbed the equaliser with a nice turn and shot at the far post. Incredibly no
goals in the second half.

MILAN 3-0 BOLOGNA
Bierhoff 47, 51 (penalty)
Leonardo 80

Ba played a one-two with Weah, chipped in a cross and no prize for guessing who
headed it in. Bierhoff took a dive in the box and converted the penalty himself
(looks like Albertini has been demoted, shame) and then laid on a through ball for
Leonardo to wrap up the scoring. Dream debut from Bierhoff.

PARMA 0-0 VICENZA

Dino Baggio came close when his shot clipped the crossbar.

BARI 1-0 VENEZIA
Zambrotta 9

Zambrotta punished some awful marking to fire home from Knudsen's hopeful
cross.

CAGLIARI 2-2 INTER
Kallon 31 Ventola 76, 81
Muzzi 41

Inter reject Kallon ran onto Muzzi's pass, turned inside a defender and picked his
spot. Colonnese played a hospital pass to Vasari and he crossed for Muzzi to head
in, 2-0. Inter substituted Baggio and Djorkaeff for Ventola and Pirlo. They had an
immediate impact. Ventola scored with a spectacular scissor kick from Cauet's
cross and Pirlo fed him for the equaliser. Cagliari rarely threatened once Muzzi
was taken off due to injury as Inter totally dominated the second half.

PERUGIA 3-4 JUVENTUS
Nakata 48, 57 Davids 23
Bernardini 87 (pen) Tudor 32
							Pessotto 44
							Fonseca 65

Davids whacked in a free kick although Pagotto should have kept it out. Tudor
headed in Del Piero's free kick and Pessotto scored probably the best of the long
range strikes of the weekend, and there were many, after a one two with Davids.
Perugia hit back with two goals early in the second half, Nakata's first a great
shot from a tight angle and he volleyed in his second after a pathetic punch out
by Peruzzi. Fonseca, on for Zidane, volleyed in Del Piero's corner and Bernardini
converted a late penalty after what looked like a foul on Rapaic by Pessotto.
Perugia's tactics of maiming key players from the opposition almost paid off,
farcical defending by both teams but in Perugia's case it can be excused. Davids
gave an off the charts performance, 3 assists from Del Piero but he still didn't
look anywhere near 100%.

PIACENZA 1-1 LAZIO
S. Inzaghi 87 Stankovic 73

Piacenza had a goal disallowed for offside, Salas missed an open goal. Stankovic
scored with a missile from about 35yds, awesome goal. Inzaghi headed in
Rastelli's cross and yes he does look like his older brother.

Red Card(s) : Lombardi 86 (Lazio)
