BOLOGNA 3 (Taider 5, Diamanti 19, Pasquato 90)
CAGLIARI 0

Taider played a one-two with Gilardino as he ran into the box then thumped a shot into the top right corner. Diamanti doubled Bologna's lead with a brilliant curling shot from the left of the penalty area, struck just like a free kick. Pasquato ended a brilliant week for Bologna with an absolute ripper from 30 yards.

CATANIA 2 (Bergessio 8, Marchese 19)
INTER 3 (Alvarez 52, Palacio 70, Palacio 92)

Bergessio punished a mistake by clown Juan Jesus, who fell over in the box when trying to shield a ball, to gave Catania an early lead. Marchese headed in a free kick. At half time Catania had leapfrogged Inter in 6th place but Stramaccioni's side hit back punishing Catania for wasting chances on the break. Palacio, on as a half time substitute replacing ROCCHI, turned the game around and kept alive Inter (vain) hopes of a Champions League place. He crossed for Alvarez then got between two defenders to head in Pereira's cross for the equaliser. Palacio slipped a pass through to Cambiasso, a defender dived in early and that gave him the space he needed to pull back a centre for Palacio's winner.

Stramaccioni saved his job with this win. The pressure is mounting. Inter have stolen four points in their last two games merely paper over the cracks. They've got in form Bologna after the Spurs game, improving Sampdoria and at the end of the month hopefully they'll get whacked by Juventus.

Attendance : 20,000
Assists : n/a, Lodi, Palacio, Pereira, Cambiasso

FIORENTINA 2 (Pasqual 4 fk, Larrondo 78)
CHIEVO 1 (Cofie 38)

Pasqual gave Fiorentina the lead with a left footed free kick. Chievo's 21 year old Ghanaian midfielder Cofie equalised with a sweetly struck first time shot as he ran onto Guana's centre. Pasqual swung a free kick towards the back post, Toni's header was off target but smacked Larrondo and flew past a helpless Puggioni.

SIENA 0
ATALANATA 2 (Bonaventura 3, Bonaventura 68)

Siena blew a great chance to move closer to safety with this shock home defeat. Bonaventura scored the first of the days early goals with a great shot from 25 yards following a one-two with Denis. Bonaventura bounced Raimondi cross off his chest before instantly killing the ball, standing near the goal-line with everyone expecting a cross he flashed a shot inside the right post. Brilliant goal.

Attendance : 8,155
Assists : Denis, Raimondi

ROMA 3 (Totti 16 Pen, Romagnoli 58, Perrotta 88)
GENOA 1 (Borriello 42 Pen)

De Rossi dived to win the penalty from which Totti equalled Gunnar Nordahl's 225 goals total and joined him in second place in the all time Serie A goalscorers list. Genoa were all over Roma from that point and Burdisso cracked under the pressure to concede the penalty. Romagnoli headed Roma back into the lead from a Totti corner. Perrotta threw himself at a Totti cross to slam a volley over Frey.

MILAN 3 (Pazzini 40, Boateng 44, Pazzini 60)
LAZIO 0

In an explosive five minutes Marchetti denied El Shaarawy at the near post then appeared to trip him as he ran in on goal seconds later, Pazzini hammered at the rebound but Biava cleared off the line. Floccari wasted a great opening with a weak shot. Candreva was sent off for shoving El Shaarawy as he bore down on goal. Despite the red card Lazio maintained their systematic fouling but the breakthrough was inevitable. Abate snapped into a tackle after Radu sold a team-mate short with a suicidal pass out of the box, Abate shot at goal, Mirante parried, Pereirinha fouled El Shaarawy as he attacked the rebound and Pazzini, deputising for Balotelli who was injured by Handanovic in the derby, put away the loose ball to give Milan a long overdue lead. Four minutes later Marchetti made a stunning save from a bullet Pazzini header but Boateng snared the rebound. Boateng responded to Radu's shirt tugging by pulling down his shorts and a heated exchange ensued. Radu, probably still rattled by the incident, underhit a clearance and Pazzini blasted in his second from 25 yards. He should have had a hat-trick but missed an easy volley. El Shaarawy and Niang wasted chances to humiliate Lazio further.

Pazzini has scored 12 goals in 13 starts for Milan. He has to play second fiddle to Balotelli in the league. Whether he'll be happy to remain when he's also first choice sub in Europe next season remains to be seen.

Attendance : 44,567
Red Card : Candreva 16 (Lazio)

1 March 2013

NAPOLI 1 (Inler 43)
JUVENTUS 1 (Chiellini 10)

Chiellini made his first start for three months and understandably showed ring rust when Pandev lost him in the first minute and pulled back for Hamsik who blazed over. De Sanctis parried a Giovinco drive and Vucinic embarrassingly headed, and this is no exaggeration, 30 feet over the bar. Chiellini put Juve into a deserved tenth minute lead after Pirlo made Britos look like a chump on the left flank and swung over a cross. Vucinic missed an easy header and when Vidal sent him through on goal he managed to find De Sanctis' left hand. He is awful. Inler unloaded from the edge of the box and his shot smacked Bonucci in the head and flew past Buffon. Napoli tightened up in the second half but Juve restricted them to shots from distance. Dzemaili missed their best chance to steal three points after Hamsik floored Buffon with a venomous shot from the edge of the box but he shanked the rebound. Cavani should have been sent off for elbowing Chiellini. He'll do well to escape a ban.

Cavani has gone around 8 goals without a game and it's easy to see why given the lack of creativity in this Napoli side. With only 1 win in their last 5 and inability to handle pressure Napoli should be nervously looking over their shoulder, they're a long way from nailing second place but given the inconsistent form of Lazio, Inter, Fiorentina and Roma they should at least finish third.

Attendance : 60,000
Assists : Pirlo, Zuniga
