CATANIA 2 (Silvestre 78, Bergessio 82)
CAGLIARI 0

Catania dominated. Cagliari didn't threaten the home goal until the side half but Acquafresca let them off the hook when he missed two sitters. Alvarez was sent off for hauling down Cossu. Silvestre scored followed a goalmouth scramble from a corner and Bergessio punished a mistake by Agazzi to tap in Catania's second.

FIORENTINA 5 (Vargas 9, D'Agostino 21, Zapata 51 og, Cerci 71, Cerci 86)
UDINESE 2 (Pinzi 29, Asamoah 57)

Cerci swung over a cross and Vargas, standing a few years inside left of the box caught the ball with a stunning left foot volley. D'Agostino, who has missed most of the season through injury, tapped in a second on a rebound. Fiorentina failed to clear their lines from a corner and Pinzi barely got off the ground as he met a poor clearance with a fantastic scissor kick into the top left corner. Zapata headed a D'Agostino shot past Handanovic. Asamoah got Udinese to within a goal when he rifled a Denis knockdown past Handanovic. Former Roma prodigy Alessio Cerci put paid to Udinese's comeback with two goals. He beat the Udinese offside trap to a ball over the top before lobbing over Cerci and blasted a Marchionni centre inside the left post.

Who knows where Fiorentina would have been had D'Agostino and Marchionni been fit. Of course they're still missing their best player - Jovetic. Gilardino is expected to move on but with Jovetic, Ljajic, Cerci, D'Agostino and Vargas they've got the core of an excellent side. They'll need a striker if they're to push for a top six finish.

The PA should be shot. He played Katy Perry's "Firework" every time Fiorentina scored.

PARMA 3 (Dzemaili 2, Modesto 18, Candreva 89)
PALERMO 1 (Pastore 56)

Sirigu, who should not be Italy's #3, made another mistake. Cassani gave him a back pass and Dzemaili made up 10 yards to charge down Sirigu's goalkick, the ball bounced off him and into an empty net. Modesto tapped in a deflected Giovinco cross. Cassani hammered a shot against the inside of the left post and Pastore, who almost scored an insane goal in the first half after dribbling through traffic, tapped in the rebound. Valiani tackled #94, nutmegged him then centre for Candreva to score Parma's third.

Having been dead and buried weeks ago Parma are now safe. It's incredible what a change of coach does.

SAMPDORIA 3 (Pozzi 55, Tissone 63, Mannini 91)
BRESCIA 3 (Eder 50, Caracciolo 57, Caracciolo 84)

Eder tapped in a loose ball but Sampdoria hit back within 5 minutes. Bega should have prevented Biabiany from getting in a cross and the unmarked Pozzi headed in at the back post. While Sampdoria were protesting over the non award of a penalty Arcari punted a goal kick towards the Sampdoria penalty box and Caracciolo barged his way past two defenders before poking the ball wide of the advancing Curci. Tissone equalised with a brilliant low drive from the edge of the box before Brescia took the lead for a third time, the giant Caracciolo towered above the Samp defence to head in Diamanti's cross and almost broke his neck as he landed. In injury time Mannini cut in from the left, turned a defender inside off then lashed the ball past Arcari. Great finish, great game, a rarity for a Sampdoria match this season.

Neither team deserves to stay up, they're been awful especially Sampdoria, the 0-0 specialists. Should they stay up, at Lecce's expense which would be a travesty, their penny pinching president will almost certainly sell off what amounts to their crown jewel, 21 year old Andrea Poli, who has been linked with a move to new champions Milan.

Attendance : 25,055
Assists : n/a, Biabiany, Arcari, Zauri, Diamanti, Guberti

BARI 2 (Bentivoglio 25 Pen, Huseklepp 42)
ROMA 3 (Totti 30 fk, Totti 57 Pen, Rosi 95)

Juan handled to concede the first penalty. Totti blasted a free kick into the bottom left corner. Great strike, dodgy wall. Huseklepp scored Bari's second best goal this season (there haven't been many). Kopunek played a ball between Riise and De Rossi (the Norwegian showing his trademark lack of concentration) to Romero and Huseklepp met his first time cross with a brilliant diving header. De Rossi was sent off for elbowing Bentivoglio. His 8th career red card, he learned from the master Totti. Parisi pulled down Juan to concede the second penalty of the match which Totti rifled low past Gillet and in doing so surpassed Baggio on the all time Serie A goalscorers list with 206 goals. He should have made it 207 but his penalty, for Glik's foul on Borriello, struck the base of the left post.

Ghezzal's audacious lob clipped the top of the crossbar. Perrotta was sent off for punishing the back of Masiello and in injury time Borriello headed down a Riise cross and the ball bounced off Rosi past the helpless Gillet.

In his post match interview Totti said "The King of Rome Is Not Dead". He's 10 goals behind Altafini and Meazza and 19 behind Nordahl. Those three are within reach but he hasn't got a prayer of catching Silvio Piola who is in first place with 274 and scored most of his goals for .. Lazio.

Attendance : 15,000
Red Cards : De Rossi 48 (Roma), Glik 78 (Bari), Perrotta 91 (Roma)
Assists : n/a, Totti (won fk), Romero, Boriello (won pen), Boriello

CESENA 1 (Budan 56)
INTER 2 (Pazzini 91, Pazzini 95)

Ranocchia, more Salvatore Fresi than the new Baresi, failed to head clear Ceccarelli's right wing cross and Budan volleyed Cesena into a deserved lead. Cesena began to tire in the second half and coach Ficcadenti made the stupid decision to substitute Giaccherini, the teams main outlet on the break. Inter were dreadful until the introduction of Pazzini. He flashed a header wide of the right post before scoring a magnificent equaliser. Eto'o swung a deep crossfield pass into the box and Pazzini leapt in the air to score with an incredible flick volley with the outside of his right foot. With seconds left on the clock he leapt above his marker to head Maicon's cross into the bottom left corner and put Milan's title celebrations in ice for another week.

Attendance : 22,139
Assists : Ceccarelli, Eto'o, Maicon
