LAZIO 1 (Zarate 84)
PALERMO 1 (Cavani 75)

Dabo should have been sent off for a shocking early two footed foul from behind on Miccoli. Clear cut chances were few and far between with both sides trying their luck from range and it was Cavani who got lucky. From 25 yards he thumped a low drive towards Muslera's left post, Muslera should have pushed the ball out for a corner but didn't get enough on it and it bounced under him and into the back of the net. Not for the first time this season Lazio scored a very dubious goal. In full view of the ref Rocchi used his arm to punch forward a free kick, Zarate controlled the ball on his chest before thundering a left foot shot past Sirigu who at 5ft 11in must be one of the shortest 'keepers in this or any league, outside of Mexico. He made two superb saves to deny Rocchi at the death.

Attendance : 15,000
Assists : Mchedlidze, Rocchi

PARMA 0
CAGLIARI 2 (Jeda 8, Dessena 58)

Cagliari collected a second successive away victory, inflicting a first home defeat on Parma. Parma watched Jeda carry the ball 50 yards from his own half and still didn't bother picking him up after he passed out wide to Cossu and took a position in the centre of goal, Cossu crossed and Jeda scored despite scuffing his shot. Dessena scored a fantastic second against his former club. He backed into a defender to shield a Cossu centre, turned and rifled a left foot shot into the bottom corner.

Attendance : 15,319
Assists : Cossu, Cossu

NAPOLI 2 (Hamsik 49, Hamsik 64)
SIENA 1 (Maccarone 56)

A Siena defender was beaten to a cross at the back post by Datalo, Curci was slow to react then showed a distinct lack of bravery as Hamsik challenged at the back post to head Napoli into the lead. Maccarone scored a quick equaliser. With a brilliant first touch he took down a crossfield pass, beat two defenders then thumped a low drive past De Sanctis. Napoli were given a soft penalty for handball, Hamsik's initial effort was saved but he scored on the rebound.

Attendance : 30,000
Assists : Datalo, Vergassola, n/a

UDINESE 2 (Di Natale 82, Pepe 89)
GENOA 0

Crespo missed a sitter and Genoa were robbed of a penalty for handball by the ever inept Trefolini. Di Natale turned onto Sanchez's clever flick and struck a terrible, bouncing shot past a poorly positioned Amelia. Moretti failed to get tight on Corradi, allowing him to turn and put in a centre which Pepe hammered in via the left post.

Attendance : 14,250
Assists : Sanchez, Corradi

JUVENTUS 1 (Trezeguet 24)
BOLOGNA 1 (Adailton 93)

Zebina (remember him?) made Trezeguet's goal with a powerful run into the box from the left touchline, his stinging drive took a deflection off Britos, Viviano could only half clear and Trezeguet tapped in his third goal of the season. Given Juve were the home side they conceded an extraordinary number of chances to Bologna, who had two, weak, appeals for penalties turned down and an own goal disallowed for offside. Juve offered little in the second half though Camoranesi should have made sure of the points but wastefully headed against a post. His miss proved costly. In the dying seconds of injury time substitute Adailton's miss-hit volley bounced past a despairing Buffon.

Attendance : 24,456

CHIEVO 1 (Pellissier 77)
ATALANTA 1 (Tiribocchi 72)

Tiribocchi scored against his former club, tapping in a rebound after Doni saw a header rebound off a post. Atalanta's right back Garics played a terribly negative backpass towards defender Bianco despite standing 20 yards from the half-way line, Bianco left the ball for Consigli only didn't bother telling him, Pellissier rounded him and tapped into an empty net.

Attendance : 8,000

CATANIA 1 (Morimoto 22)
ROMA 1 (De Rossi 90)

Poor defending on a corner cost Roma the lead. Capuano was allowed to turn in the box onto a loose ball, his cross was spectacularly tipped onto a post by Julio Sergio but as the Brazilian goalkeeper landed the ball bounced off him and landed invitingly at Morimoto's feet. Catania were much the better side in the second half. Julio Sergio made another stunning save, this time from a deflected Mascara effort. Roma scored a late equaliser from a disputed corner. Totti caught the ball on the volley at the back post, it struck a defender, hit De Rossi and bounced into the net.

LIVORNO 0
FIORENTINA 1 (Jovetic 75 Pen)

Attendance : 11,915
Red Card : Dainelli 85 (Fiorentina)
Assist : Gilardino (won pen)

SAMPDORIA 1 (Pazzini 72)
INTER 0

For a top of the table clash this was very disappointing. Without Sneijder and Motta Inter offered very little in midfield though still managed to muzzle Cassano. This looked odds on to be a goal-less draw until Pazzini struck. From the right of the penalty area Palombo passed infield to Mannini, he angled a centre between Lucio and Cambiasso and Pazzini passed the ball into the bottom corner. In injury time Castelazzi dived across his goal to make an unbelievable save from a Lucio free kick.

Remarkably a week after looking a distant second best against Fiorentina, Samp are a point clear at the top of Serie A.

Attendance : 35,000
Assist : Mannini
