ATALANTA 3 (Capelli 52, Doni 56, Doni 59)
ROMA 0

After their stunning performance against Genoa last week Roma were given a taste of their own medicine as Atalanta claimed another prized scalp at home. Adriano 's speculative shot hit Juan and Capelli lashed home the rebound. Atalanta's second came from the opposite flank. Padoin whipped in a low cross, Doni stole a yard on his market and slid the ball in with a back heel. Atalanta's 35 year old captain ran half the length of the field to chase down a long ball out of defence, cut inside he box, side stepped Juan's sliding tackle and shot past Doni. Brilliant. Perrotta was sent off for a jumping two footed foul on Parravicini which, to the midfielders credit, he nonchalantly stepped away from.

Attendance : 7,053
Red Card : Perrotta 89 (Roma)

CAGLIARI 2 (Fini 49, Matri 94)
LECCE 0

A corner was cleared to the edge of the box, Fini ran onto the ball and connected with a right foot bullet which flew in off a post. Matri finished off Lecce on the break. Lazzari sent him clear and he nutmegged Benussi at his near post.

CHIEVO 1 (Colucci 92)
CATANTA 1 (Ledesma 12 Pen)

The ref awarded Catania a bullshit penalty. Morimoto tripped over his own feet under minimal contact from Pinzi and Sorrentino should have saved Ledesma's horrible spot kick. Chievo created plenty of chances, most of them were completely rubbish until Frey swung in a fantastic cross for Colucci to head past Bizarri.

Attendance : 10,000
Assists : Morimoto (won pen), Frey

GENOA 3 (Motta 12, Palladino 38, Milito 56 Pen)
FIORENTINA 3 (Mutu 60 Pen, Mutu 80, Mutu 94)

Sculli passed infield to Motto on the edge of the Fiorentina penalty area, he flicked the ball first time to Milito, he dropped a lob over the heads of two defenders, Motto ran between them, took the ball on his thigh and rifled it into the bottom corner. Biava was shown a second yellow card for a late foul on Jovetic. Despite going a man down Genoa increased their lead thanks to Mesto's persistence, he held off two defenders as he dribbled his way into the box and his deflected centre fell perfectly for Palladino to slot into the corner. A poor refereeing decision allowed Milito to put ten man Genoa three goals up. Master diver Gilardino won a penalty and Mutu began an extraordinary comeback from the spot. Shortly after Prandelli switched to a 2-4-4 formation Mutu pulled Fiorentina's deficit to within a goal with a stunning free kick. Jovetic should have been sent off about six times for persistent diving. I've never seen a player go to ground so much in a single game in almost twenty years. Deep into second half injury time Fiorentina's intricate passing was going nowhere until a clearance fell to Mutu on the edge of the box and he curled a sensational right foot shot inside the bottom corner of Rubinho's net.

Attendance : 28,000
Red Card : Biava 30 (Genoa)
Assists : Milito, n/a, Criscito (won pen), Gilardino (won pen), n/a, n/a

JUVENTUS 1 (Amauri 62)
SAMPDORIA 1 (Pazzini 10)

The Juve defence sprang their offside trap to play Sammarco offside only Cassano's perfectly weighted through pass was intended for Pazzini and he wasn't offside and beat Buffon with a delicately placed shot inside his near post. An absolutely sensational Del Piero back heel put Nedved in on goal and his shot bounced off the inside of the right post and rolled across the face of goal before Padalino cleared. The luckless Nedved headed a Camoranesi free kick against the crossbar. In the second half Sampdoria hit the woodwork, Buffon was a bystander as Molinaro's deflected cross bounced off his left post. Amauri met Giovinco's inswinging cross with a great diving header to give Juve a deserved equaliser but the Bianconeri continued to be thwarted by the woodwork, Del Piero's free kick crashed off the underside of the crossbar then a post forcing another desperate clearance.

Assists : Cassano, Giovinco

SIENA 1 (Maccarone 50)
UDINESE 1 (Di Natale 72)

After a first half completely dominated by the visitors Siena took the lead from the penalty spot. Maccarone converted on the rebound after Handanovic saved. Di Natale was booked for diving, had a goal disallowed for offside and missed a virtually open goal before equalising. He trapped Obodo's cross on his chest then bounced a shot over Curci as he dived at his feet.

Attendance : 15,000

INTER 2 (Adriano 29, Stankovic 43)
MILAN 1 (Pato 71)

Ambrosini made a fantastic tackle in the box to thwart Stankovic just as he was about to pull the trigger and finish off a fine passing move. Pato failed to take advantage of two sublime Ronaldinho passes. Maicon and Zanetti traded passes down the right, Maicon swung a cross to the back post and Adriano jumped for a header but missed, knocking the ball past Abbiati with his right hand. Ibrahimovic headed down Muntari's crossfield pass, Stankovic ghosted into the box and slammed a right foot volley into the bottom corner.

Inter should have put the game to bed early in the second half. Adriano failed to take advantage of a mistake by the dreadful Kaladze, missing an open goal. Ronaldinho picked out Seedorf with another great pass to the back post but he flashed a volley high over the bar. A brief interlude to sustained Inter pressure. Abbiati denied Ibrahimovic with a great save at his near post, Adriano went close with a spectacular overhead kick and Muntari should have at the very least forced a save from an Ibrahimovic centre. Suddenly Milan were back in the match. Ronaldinho turned Cambiasso and toe poked a ball to Jankulovski out wide left and Pato slammed his centre past Julio Cesar. Adriano burned Maldini down Milan's right flank but failed to beat Abbiati at his near post. Inzaghi drew two great saves from Julio Cesar, was hauled down in the box for a stone wall penalty, was caught offside two times and had an amazing left foot volley ruled out by a linesman's flag.

Poor officiating by the normally excellent Rosetti.

Attendance : 76,178
Assists : Maicon, Ibrahimovic, Jankulovski

LAZIO 1 (Siviglia 75)
TORINO 1 (Abate 36)

On loan Milan winger Abate intercepted Dabo's poor clearance and took one touch to get away from a defender and struck a right foot shot with such force both his feet left the ground as blasted the ball into the bottom corner of Muslera's net. As Torino were defending a corner the ball broke to Kolarov on the edge of the box and he hammered a left foot shoot straight into the referee's face, TIMBER!!! he fell as if a tree had been chopped down by an axe. After some treatment he was back on his feet. Rocchi lobbed an overhit corner upto the back post, Mauri sliced an overhead kick and Siviglia, who has a resemblance to Enrico Chiesa, powered a header past Sereni.

Attendance : 25,000
Assists : n/a, Mauri

NAPOLI 1 (Maggio 19)
BOLOGNA 1 (Di Vaio 23)

Maggio headed down a deep cross from the left, Lavezzi jumped in the air and connected with a breathtaking overhead kick but Antonioli made a superb reaction save. Minutes later he was picking the ball out of his net. Denis turned onto a Lavezzi pass, got in front of his marker and rolled a centre for Maggio to side foot into the net. A dreadful mistake gifted the visitors a point. Rinaudo tried to head clear a back pass but Volpi charged down the clearance and from a poor angle hit a tame volley at Navarro, he fumbled the ball and Di Vaio tapped in at the back post.
