Salihamidzic chested down a poor, overhit free kick then slipped as he tried to turn, he got back to his feet, went past a defender and was tackled as he was shaping to shoot, the ball broke to the edge of the box and Grygera hit an absolute bullet into the roof of the net. The Czech full back made the second, rolling a pass to the back post for Trezeguet to score a simple tap-in.

Silvestre inadvertently knocked down a Parola free kick to Conti who promptly tapped the visitors into the lead. Silvestri made amends with a brilliant equaliser. Baiocco flicked on a corner with a back heel volley and the defender jumped in the air and caught the ball on the bounce with an overhead kick. Two minutes after the restart Canini volleyed Mascara's free kick into his own net.

Bassi jumped for an Oddo cross, caught the ball and as he landed bounced it off Gilardino and Pato tapped in his 6th goal in 10 games. Antonini ran through a poor challenge from Oddo on the left flank before firing in a centre off Maldini, Kaladze fouled Abate as he was about to make contact with the ball but Busce arrived at the back post to slam in the equaliser. Kaka' whipped a teasing cross to the back post for Ambrosini to powerfully head Milan back into the lead and the two teenager strikers were involved in a flattering third. Pato slipped a pass out wide to Paloschi, a late sub for the awful Gilardino, as Bassi dived at his feet he chipped the ball back to the edge of the box and Kaka' took a touch before smashing in off the sprawling Giacomazzi.

Rocchi, Amelia and a defender collided when attacking a Ledesma free kick and miraculously no one was hurt, Rocchi was first to his feet and slammed the ball into an empty net. Pandev fired in the second after the Livorno defence once against failed to deal with a cross from the left.

Napoli were looking to claim another prized scalp hot on the heels of their victory over Inter but fell behind due to a defensive error. Panucci hit a poor cross into the box but Contini's slack clearance fell to Totti and he poked the ball into the box for Perrotta to score. Referee Saccani gave Roma a soft penalty for an apparent foul on Cicinho and on his 500th appearance for Roma Totti made no mistake. Soft penalty aside Roma were good value for their victory.
