A tremendous run by Foggia lead to a quick equaliser, Fini controlled the midfielder's deflected cross on his knee before volleying past Frey. Mutu finished off Cagliari with goals either side of half time, the first a super near post header. Santana fired a loose ball through Marruocco's legs for the fourth and scored a fantastic second. Receiving a pass from Ujfalusi on the left touchline he cut inside the box and dribbled past two players before thumping the ball into the top left corner.

Pirlo gave Milan the lead with a brilliant free kick. Ibrahimovic sucked in three players on the left flank then passed to Cambiasso, he rolled the ball to Cruz who held off Seedorf before firing through Kaladze's legs beating Dida, who should have saved, at his near post. Another Dida mistake handed Inter the points. Cambiasso latched onto an awful Maldini clearance before shooting straight down the middle as Dida inexplicably dived OUT OF THE WAY of the ball.

Rosina converted before Trefoloni, who almost certainly watched a replay of the penalty incident at half time, tried to even the score by giving Napoli a spot kick when Zalayeta threw himself over Sereni only Domizzi was denied by a brilliant save.
