ATALANTA 3-2

SAMPDORIA

Doni 38, 84 (Pens)

Quagliarella 4, 11

Zampagna 89

Quagliarella resisted about five attempts to foul/tackle him 30 yards from goal
before unleashing an unstoppable shot which flew inside the top right post. His
second goal was even better, an outrageous lob from a silly angle after Samp
caught the home side on the break. The first penalty was awarded for shirt
pulling in the box. Pieri threw away the points with a clumsily challenge on
Ventola then Falcone failed to deal with a routine long ball and Zampagna took
full advantage to lob home the winner.

CATANIA 3-1

LAZIO

Colucci 36, 53

Rocchi 56

Spinesi 45

Catania were camped inside the Lazio half and finally broke the deadlock when
Colucci powerfully headed Silvestri's cross past Peruzzi. On half time Spinesi
took advantage of more static defending with a volley at the far post and
Colucci tapped in a third after a double deflection left him with an open goal.
Rocchi punished Baiocco's hospital pass to give Lazio a glimmer of hope and
Lazio may have fought back for a point had Mutarelli not missed a sitter minutes
later.

FIORENTINA 3-0

REGGINA

Mutu 30

Santana 43

Blasi 55

Mutu blasted Fiorentina into a deserved lead with a superb right foot shot from
25 yards. Santana made it 2-0 just before half time when he flicked Pasquale's
centre into the bottom corner. Blasi slammed in Mutu's centre to complete the
rout. Fiorentina could have scored six.

ROMA 1-1

CHIEVO

Totti 66

Pellissier 40

Chievo took a controversial lead via a quickly taken free kick. The Roma defence
stood still waiting for offside as Pellissier gathered Zanchetta's pass and
rounded Doni before vaulted over Chivu's despairing lunge before tapping into an
empty net, and he was clearly offside. A speculative shot from Pizarro took a
deflection off D'Anna allowing Totti to score a deserved equaliser from six
yards.

MILAN 0-2

PALERMO

Bresciano 48

Amauri 74

Diana tried to thread a pass between Nesta and Cafu towards Bresciano, Nesta
inexplicably ran away from the ball leaving Bresciano to take it wide and shoot
past Dida. Another mistake by Nesta was almost punished by Simplicio but his
shot flew back off a post. Milan struck the woodwork twice inside seven seconds,
after Kaka's stunning shot flew back off post Pirlo gathered the ball and
slammed it against the crossbar. Amauri scrambled in a second following a
mistake by Dida.

Surprisingly the home fans didn't boo Ancelotti or the team off the pitch.
I doubt that will be the case if they lose the Milan derby next week.

MESSINA 2-2

EMPOLI

Rigano 9

Saudati 32

Ogasawara 50

Busce 64

Di Napoli drew Balli off his line with a teasing cross and Rigano took advantage
with a thumping header. Zanchi failed to get tight to Saudati as he took a deep
cross on his chest before poking past Storari. Ogasawara punished more hesitancy
from Balli to score his first ever Serie A goal. Busce finished off a quick
interchange of passes with a low shot into the far corner.
