ASCOLI 3-2

PALERMO

Boudianski 25, 62

Simplicio 10

Paolucci 47

Matusiak 31

Bresciano chased down a miss-hit pass and centred for Simplicio to tap the
visitors into the lead. Bonanni touched a free kick to Boudianski and from about
25 yards he hit a rising shot into the left side of Agliardi's goal. Palermo
restored their lead from a failed offside trap, Eleftheropoulos saved from
Simplicio after Di Michele played him in on the left leaving Matusiak with an
empty net on the rebound. Soncin almost floored Agliardi with a speculative shot
and Paolucci was first to the rebound. Once again Bonanni touched back a free
kick to Boudianski and he struck a tremendous low shot inside a post.

LAZIO

Crespo 20, 35, 80

Pandev 3

Materazzi 81

Mutarelli 5

Ledesma 41

Stankovic slipped while in possession on the edge of his box, Pandev gathered
the ball and as he shot Materazzi threw himself at the ball and it took a wild
deflection, looping high over Julio Cesar. Five Inter players failed to cut out
Jimenez' far post cross leaving an unmarked Rocchi to head into the bottom
corner. Crespo stabbed in from close range after Maicon hooked on a cross from
the returning Vieira. The Frenchman took out five Lazio players with an
outrageous pass with the outside of his right foot and an unmarked Crespo
equalised at the back post. Lazio quickly restored their lead from a free kick,
Ledesma with a brilliant shot from Pandev's lay-off. A poor defensive clearance
gave Gonzalez a second chance to send a cross into a crowded penalty and five
players stood in a line and watched Crespo complete his hat-trick. They must
have forgot he left Lazio five years ago. A minute later Materazzi met
Stankovic's corner with a bullet header to complete Inter's second 4-3 win of
the season.

PARMA 4-1

MESSINA

Rossi 23, 31

Rigano 87

Muslimovic 29
Gasbarroni 34

A superb first touch took Rossi away from his marker and from a bad angle out
wide on the left he steered a shot past Paoletti. Muslimovic fired in the second
from the edge of the box and Rossi tapped in the third from Budan's centre.
Three minutes later Budan released Muslimovic with an extravagant back heel and
as he ran into the box he unselfishly centred for Gasbarroni to score Parma's
fourth. Rigano took advantage of Bucci's lack of bravery to grab himself a
consolation goal.

For those who are counting that's 9 goals for Rossi in 17 games, for a crap side
and he's made Italy's U-21 squad. I still don't think his game is suited to the
Premiership but even if Parma wanted him they couldn't afford him.

Attendance : 14,700
Assists : Budan, Gasbarroni, Budan, Muslimovic, Pestrin

REGGINA 1-1

CHIEVO

Bianchi 53

Brighi 51

Pellissier cleverly turned onto Bogdani's pass forcing Campagnolo into a point
blank save and Brighi tapped in to rebound. Bianchi scored an instant equaliser
when he met Tedesco's cross with a spectacular low diving header.

Maccarone 93

Portanova headed Siena into the lead from Galloppa's free kick and in second
half injury time Maccarone put the nail in the coffin on Empoli's feint
Champions League hopes from Frick's centre.

UDINESE 2-3

ATALANTA

Asamoah 28, 68

Zampagna 49 (Pen)

Tissone 74

Vieri 89

Barreto flicked on a pass to Asamoah, he headed the ball wide of his marker,
rounded the 'keeper and tapped into an empty net. Zampagna sent De Sanctis the
wrong way from the penalty spot. A clever exchange of passes on the edge of the
Atalanta penalty area sent Asamoah clear on goal to score his second. Tissone
took advantage of some feeble defending to run onto a loose ball and blast in
the equaliser from 20 yards. Bernardini tackled an Udinese defender as he tried
to carry the ball out of defence, passed to Vieri and with all the time in the
World he shot into the bottom left corner of the net.

Attendance : 7,000

Parma : One of the form teams in the league. Lazio have already qualified for
the Champions League but have a proud home record so won't make it easy for
Ranieri's men. Empoli need two points from their last two games to guarantee a
UEFA Cup place. Parma should be safe.

Catania : The team that cost Italy the 2012 European Championships. Looked dead
and buried until a shock win at Udinese last week brought an end to an alarming
slide but face two teams who still have everything to play for. Sampdoria have
an outside chance of claiming the last UEFA Cup place and
as it stands Chievo occupy the last relegation place. The Chievo match will
decide Catania's fate.

Siena : Face a Palermo side desperately fighting for a UEFA Cup place but have
only conceded more than one goal on their travels once this year. Should stay
up.

Cagliari : The Sardinians will be hoping Roma are busy celebrating winning the
Italian Cup to care about the fixture at the weekend. If they win that they
should be safe.

Reggina : Have fought valiantly against a heavy points penalty all season but
have been hit by nerves in recent weeks. Empoli are excellent at home so
Reggina's hopes will probably rest on their final match away to Milan but
they've been in that position many times in recent seasons and survived.
Hopefully Milan will be too busy celebrating winning the European Cup to care.

Chievo : The Flying Donkeys are very hard to predict. A win at home to relegated
Ascoli should keep them up and they're overdue some magic from Obinna.
