UDINESE 2-4

LAZIO

Di Natale 58 (Pen)

Stendardo 18

Iaquinta 92

Mauri 49

Behrami 51

Rocchi 60 (Pen)

Stendardo headed Lazio into the lead from a Ledesma fee kick. Mauri tapped in
the second after Rocchi volleyed a Ledesma free kick across goal. A brilliant
reverse pass sent Rocchi down the left, he got between two defenders and whipped
a cross into the box, Behrami took advantage of non existent marking to score
his first goal of the season. Di Natale put away a charity penalty but Rocchi
killed off any hopes of a comeback with a penalty of his own. Iaquinta, making a
much quicker than expected recovery from a fractured cheekbone, scored a late
consolation goal.

Attendance : 10,000
Red Card : D'Agostino 71 (Udinese)
Assists : Ledesma, Rocchi, Rocchi, n/a, Rocchi (won pen), Muntari (fk)

ATALANTA 2-2

FIORENTINA

Loria 39

Reginaldo 27

Doni 65 (Pen)

Pazzini 32 (Pen)

Reginaldo raced onto a longball, and I do mean long, out of defence before
beating Calderoni with a blistering strike from a ridiculous angle. Pazzini
followed up his Wembley hat-trick with a penalty against his former club. Loria
headed in a Bernardini corner and Doni put away the second dodgy penalty of the
match to equalise.

Attendance : 13,000
Assists : Montolivo, Jorgensen (won pen), Bernardini (ck), Ventola

CAGLIARI 2-0

CHIEVO

Biondini 12

Budel 24

Zoro had an inadvertent hand in both of Cagliari's goal. Capone punished him for
trying to shepherd a ball out of play by sliding into the box and hooking it
back for Biondini to score from 12 yards. Budel's speculative shot took a wicked
deflection off Zoro's back past a helpless Paoletti.

Attendance : 10,000
Assists : Capone, n/a

CHIEVO 1-1

SAMPDORIA

Brighi 32

Quagliarella 27

Quagliarella, who was only given a few minutes on his international debut
against the Jocks in mid-week, scored another incredible goal. Standing ahead of
the centre circle with his back to play he turned onto a bouncing ball and let
rip with a right foot half volley which sailed through the air and dropped over
Squizzi's head into the net. Squizzi was ONLY standing about 6 yards off his
line. Quagliarella's brilliance wasn't matched by his defence. Berti came off
his line to attack a cross, Bogdani beat him to it, the ball bounced off the
crossbar and Brighi put away the rebound.

Attendance : 5,765
Assists : Volpi?, n/a

EMPOLI 4-1

ASCOLI

Pozzi 44, 74

Soncin 50

Saudati 53 (Pen)
Saudati 71

Nicola Pozzi, who has lost the use of his right hand ring finger after deciding
against surgery for a snapped tendon, did what I can only describe as mini
Cryuff turn to wrong foot his marker in the box before slotting inside a post.
Soncin punished a slack clearance to equalise before Saudati restored Empoli's
lead from the penalty spot. Saudati ran through a half arsed Nastase challenge
to score the third and three minute later Pozzi redirected Vannuchi's miss-hit
volley past Eleftheropoulos.

Attendance : 4,000
Red Card : Delvecchio 67 (Ascoli)
Assists : Vannucchi, n/a, Busce' (won pen), Busce, Vannucchi

INTER 2-0

PARMA

Maxwell 56

Crespo 70

Crespo picked up possession on the left flank and played the ball inside to
Maxwell, he dribbled past three players in the box before slamming a left foot
shot into the roof of the net. Adriano used his considerable bulk to muscle his
way past two players before unselfishly centring for Crespo to tap-in Inter's
second.

Attendance : 40,000
Assists : Crespo, Adriano

LIVORNO 4-1

CATANIA

Lucarelli 20, 82 (Pen), 92

Sottil 14

Fiore 45

Sottil headed struggling Catania into the lead from a Mascara corner. With his
back to goal Lucarelli collected a pass from Morrone and was given plenty of
time to turn, by the worst defence in the league, before shooting into the
bottom right corner. On half time Sottil fell as he tried to kick the ball away
from Fiore, Fiore kept his balance, turned and side footed past Pantanelli.
Lucarelli scored his 100th Serie A goal (in 239 games) from the penalty spot
which is a remarkable achievement given he has played for the likes of Atalanta,
Lecce and Torino. Lucarelli completed his hat-trick with a fierce strike from
the edge of the box to complete a dream debut for Livorno's new coach Fernando
Orsi.

Attendance : 5,641
Red Card : Baiocco 66 (Catania)
Assists : Mascara (ck), Morrone, Pasquale, n/a, n/a

ROMA 1-1

MILAN

Mexes 4

Gilardino 60

Roma surprised Milan with an aggressive start, Cafu made a great block tackle on
Mancini and Dida pulled off a superb save, for the first time in many, many
months, from a De Rossi header. Totti played the resulting corner low across the
box to Mexes and he hammered a superb first time shot into the top right corner.
Gilardino replaced the once against disappointing Oliveira at half time and
headed in the equaliser from a Pirlo free kick. Milan survived a Roma backlash
but should have stolen the points late on but Gilardino missed from 10 yards
after Kaka' sprung a counter attack.

Roma had sponsorship on their shirts for the first time this season (Pepsi) but
apparently it's a one off deal which seems ridiculous given they've got two
matches with Man United this month. Nesta was back after a four month injury
lay-off.

Attendance : 50,000
Assists : Totti (ck), Pirlo (fk)
