LAZIO 3-1

EMPOLI

Pandev 8

Almiron 93

Rocchi 27
Manfredini 74

It only took Lazio, whose football is light years ahead of from the absolute
garbage they played under Eriksson, 8 minutes to take the lead. Mauri poked a
ball over the top of the Empoli defence, Pandev raced clear and sent a 30 yard
lob over Balli who was stranded on the penalty spot. Lazio made it 2-0 with one
of their trademark rapid fire counter attacks. From the centre circle Rocchi
volleyed a pass forward to Mauri, he raced upfield before centring to Pandev,
swarmed by two defenders he couldn't make room for a shot so rolled the ball
wide to former Empoli striker Rocchi who hit a superb first time shot into the
roof of the net. Empoli were threatening an equaliser then suddenly Manfredini
unleashed a left foot missile which flew in off a post. Vannucchi touched an in-
direct free kick back to Almiron and he blasted the ball through the Lazio wall
via a deflection.

ASCOLI 1-2

INTER

Bonanni 93 (Pen)

Ibrahimovic 65, 73

Inter were struggling until Adriano came off the bench in the second half and
set-up both goals for Ibrahimovic. The first from a left wing cross Maicon would
have been proud of, finished off with a right foot volley. He found the giant
Swede unmarked in front of goal with a through pass and he shot between
Eleftheropoulos' legs. Banana converted an injury time penalty awarded for
Samuel's dangerous challenge on Bjelanovic.

Attendance : 4,800
Assists : Adriano, Adriano, Bjelanovic (won pen)

CAGLIARI 0-2

CHIEVO

Brighi 50

Bogdani 55

Brighi scored a tap-in after Fortin parried from Bogdani. Five minutes later
Semioli lobbed a pass over the Cagliari defence to Pellissier and with Fortin
approaching he jumped in the air, volleyed the ball over to the back post and
Bogdani tapped in.

CATANIA 1-4

REGGINA

Rossini 90

Amoruso 58

Foggia 62

Bianchi 85 (Pen)

Esteves 88

Modesto skipped a tackle as he ran into the box and pulled the ball back for
Amoruso to shoot Reggina into the lead. Foggia, criminally underused by Milan,
picked up the ball in his own half and as he got inside the centre circle he let
rip with a shot which sailed in the air before bouncing between Pantanelli's
legs as he put out his arms to catch it. Bianchi continued his battle with Totti
for the Capocannoniere title with a penalty before setting up Esteves for the
fourth. Rossini scored a nice but irrelevant consolation goal as Catania's
relegation form continues. I'm surprised Pasquale Marino hasn't been sacked.

MESSINA 0-3

TORINO

Muzzi 26

Rosina 77 (Pen)

Stellone 85

Midget Rosina rescued an over hit cross by heading the ball back to it's
intended target Muzzi, yes the ancient Roberto Muzzi, and he headed in his first
goal for six months. Rosina nonchalantly converted a gift of a penalty, I'm sure
he'll end up at  Juventus. Stellone sealed Torino's third win in four games, following
the re-appointment  of Gianni Di Biasi as coach, from a Gallo corner.

Attendance : 12,000

UDINESE 4-0

LIVORNO

Di Natale 34

Rezai 37 (og)
Di Natale 69
Barreto 83 (Pen)

Di Natale blasted Udinese into the lead with a lovely goal, controlling
Asamoah's header on his chest before rifling a volley into the net. Three
minutes later Asamoah's speculative shot took a deflection off Rezai wrong
footing Amelia in the Livorno goal. Di Natale made sure there would be no
comeback from Livorno this week when he took advantage of static defender from
the Livorno centre backs to blast in the third. Barreto completed Udinese's most
emphatic victory of the season from the penalty spot.

Attendance : 14,000

SAMPDORIA 1-1

PALERMO

Quagliarella 56

Cavani 53

Cavani's reward for his outstanding goal in his debut performance against
Fiorentina last week was his first start and he rewarded Guidolin with a
superbly placed flick header from 12 yards. A dreadful mistake gifted Sampdoria
the equaliser. Pieri hit a long ball forward, Barzagli left it for his
goalkeeper to deal with, Agliardi came off his line and with Quagliarella
advancing hesitated as he was about to boot the ball upfield, he slipped and
Quagliarella tapped into an empty net.
