ASCOLI 2-2

UDINESE

Soncin 58, 69

Iaquinta 36

Barreto 42

Iaquinta needed two bites of the cherry to score after a failed offside trap
left him in the clear. The giant striker made Udinese's second with an
outstanding pass, as he rolled a defender, turning with the ball on his right
foot, he flicked it through to Barreto with his left and the Brazilian rounded
Pagliuca before slammed into an empty net. Soncin punished slack defending by
Lukovic to head in at the back post and bundled in the equaliser after
Boudianski headed a free kick against the underside of the crossbar.

TORINO

Pandev 11, 61

Rocchi broke forward to support Mutarelli, Pandev ran in on Rocchi's blindside,
Mutarelli's pass took out two defenders and Pandev lobbed over Abbiati as he
rushed off his line, despite Franceschini's attempts to punch the ball clear.
Mauri, standing with his back to goal on the edge of the box, nonchalantly
walked away from a sliding tackle, hooked a pass between two defenders out to
Pandev and from the right hand side of the box he drilled the ball into the
opposite corner of the net.

Pandev is the most underrated player in Europe.

Attendance : 21,000

LIVORNO 2-1

MESSINA

Fiore 26

Zoro 78

Lucarelli 69

Fiore played a one-two with Lucarelli on the edge of the box before connecting
with the strikers return pass with a firm shot straight at Caglioni but he
fumbled the ball into his own net. Lucarelli bounced Balleri's free kick on his
chest before lashing the ball into the net. Zoro headed in a late consolation
goal but it wasn't enough to prevent Livorno from earning their first win in ten
games.

PALERMO 1-1

CHIEVO

Di Michele 23

Obinna 46

Diana tried his luck from distance, the ball cannoned off the back of a Chievo
player towards the centre circle, Luciano headed out to Sammarco but he
miraculously managed to slash the ball back into the box when trying to clear
leaving Di Michele to lob over Squizzi from 12 yards. A Bogdani back heel caused
panic in the box, Obinna muscling his way onto a loose ball before slotting
inside a post.

CAGLIARI

Burdisso 11

Mancini made several changes ahead of Inter's Champions League tie with
Valencia. Burdisso scored the only goal from a marvellous Ibrahimovic cross. The
result, Inter's 16th consecutive league victory is a new European record beating
the previous tally of 15 held by both Bayern and Real Madrid.

SIENA 3-4

MILAN

Vergassola 19

Ronaldo 16

Maccarone 31, 89

Oliveira 29

Ronaldo 81

Molinaro 94 (og)

Ronaldo headed Milan into the lead from a delightful Pirlo cross and he was
swarmed by his new team-mates, everyone grinning with delight. Milan's
celebrations were short lived. Kaladze failed to get tight on winger Antonini
allowing him to send in a cross, Bonera also missed, Corvia whacked the ball
against Cafu and Vergassola slammed in the rebound. Manninger, who has had some
mixed games against Milan which include a 6-0 thrashing and the performance of
his life in a 0-0? draw, was beaten by Oliveira's poorly placed shot. Boro
reject Maccarone or Macca-jabrone as one of my friends calls him, scored an
immediate equaliser, ripping a half volley into the net following a spot of head
tennis. Brocchi was sent off for a foul from behind on Cozza though like
Beckham's red card today there wasn't much contact. Gattuso ran over Negro as he
tried to shepard out a pass from former team-mate Oddo, clear foul, Gattuso
played the ball into Kaka', he skipped past two defenders before drawing a save
from Manninger and Ronaldo tapped in the rebound. Locatelli whipped a cross to
the back post and the unmarked Maccarone had time to control the ball before
shooting past Storari. Manninger looked to have earned Siena a point with a
magnificent injury time save from Ambrosini but in the 94th minute Milan forced
a corner. As Oddo swung the ball into the box, Gastaldello wrestled Ambrosini to
the ground and amid the chaos Molinaro headed the ball into his own net.
