JUVENTUS 1-1

FIORENTINA

Del Piero 62

Toni 47

Zebina kicked Toni in the box to concede a 16 minute penalty but the traitor
Abbiati saved from Jimenez. Giannichedda almost scored an own goal, deflecting
Fiore's cross against a post. Toni made amends for a bad miss late in the first
half when Juve tried to play offside as he volleyed Jimenez's pass wide of
Abbiati. Del Piero turned onto Vieira's pass to equalise. Juve finished much
stronger, Vieira headed against the crossbar and Ibrahimovic made his latest
contribution to miss of the week.

Attendance : 27,666
Assists : Jimenez, Vieira

CAGLIARI 1-1

PALERMO

Suazo 45

Di Michele 94

Suazo picked up the ball on the half way line and ran through three players before
finding the back of the net. He wasted threat great chances in the second half and
also screwed up a pass which would have left a team-mate clear in front of goal.
Cagliari would pay a heavy price, their defence allowed a longball to bounce in the
box, forcing Chimenti off his line and Di Michele looped a header into the net.

Attendance : 12,000
Assists : Budel, Rinaudo

EMPOLI 2-1

SAMPDORIA

Busce 28, 47

Flachi 60 (Pen)

Busce scored from an acute angle after Tavano forced Antoniolli into making a great
save. Tavano ran across the edge of the box to chase down a pass and noticed Busce
breaking into the box so hit a back heel half volley pass into the box, Busce met the
ball as it dropped, shooting into the bottom corner. Flachi's theatrics won Samp a
penalty but they never threatened a comeback.

As Ancelotti has extended his contract with Milan I expect Donadoni will be Sampdoria
coach next season - coaches in Italy cannot work for more than one club in a season.
I don't understand how Novellino is still in charge.

Attendance : 5,876
Assists : n/a, Tavano, Flachi (won pen)

MESSINA 3-1

TREVISO

Floccari 13

Fava 14

Maggio 71 (og)
Cottafava 72 (og)

A great cross left Floccari with an easy header. Fava tapped in the equaliser from
Vascak's pullback. Zancope made a string of excellent saves before he was finally
beaten by cruel deflections off team-mates, sucks to be him and Treviso who are
relegated.

Attendance : 25,000
Assists : Sculli, Vascak, n/a, n/a

MILAN 4-1

CHIEVO

Nesta 28

Pellissier 13

Kaka' 62, 70 (Pen), 91

Malago headed on a free kick and Pellissier got in front of Cafu (I wish he was still
injured, he's bloody useless) to volley Chievo into the lead. The Chievo defence
charged down a Kaka' corner but he was quick to recover the ball and passed to
Nesta, who was standing towards the right edge of the box, and he whipped the ball
in off a post, great finish. Kaka' put away two rebounds either side of a penalty
awarded for handball to complete his first Milan hat-trick.

Milan delayed the start of the match for 10 minutes in protest of the mornings attack
on Inter players at an airport. Shevchenko was rested ahead of Saturday's Milan derby.

Attendance : 60,762
Assists : Malago, Kaka', n/a, n/a, n/a

PARMA 4-0

REGGINA

Bresciano 12
Simplicio 34
Contini 65 (Pen)
Dessena 79

Parma should have been awarded an early penalty when a defender went through
Simplicio as he tried to run onto a pass, the ref played the advantage and Bresciano
shot into the bottom corner. Simplicio made it 2-0 after Marchionni turned Paredes
before passing, normally he would dive looking for a penalty. Contini converted a
penalty awarded for handball and Dessena completed Parma's most emphatic victory
since the glory days with a goal on the break.

Attendance : 13,500
Assists : n/a, Marchionni, n/a, Pasquale

ROMA 3-1

LECCE

Mancini 20 (Pen), 73

Del Vecchio 91

Chivu 23

Mancini scored from the penalty spot and made the second for Chivu from a corner.
The ref gave Lecce a penalty for an apparent foul by Panucci. Pinardi shot wide of a
post. Mancini made it 3-0 when Lecce screwed up offside. Del Vecchio headed in an
injury time consolation goal.

Attendance : 40,000
Assists : Cufre (won pen), Mancini (ck), Tommasi, Vucinic (fk)

SIENA 2-3

LAZIO

Vergassola 24

Mauri 14

Chiesa 40

Rocchi 22

Dabo 50

Both of Lazio's first two goals were tap-ins from rebounds. Vergassola began the
comeback when he redirected Foglio's wayward shot past Ballotta. Siena hit the post
twice and but deservedly got level after Chiesa combined with Bogdani. Liverani
touched a free kick to Dabo and he blasted the ball inside the right post. Ballotta
made three World Class saves for Lazio, Behrami and Rocchi wasted chances on the
break.

Attendance : 9,000
Assists : n/a, Zauri, Foglio, Bogdani, Liverani (fk)

8 April 2006

LIVORNO 0-2

UDINESE

Iaquinta 34

Natali 52

Livorno appealed for offside as Felipe ran onto Candela's pass, the defender centred,
Iaquinta shot straight at Amelia but he couldn't hold on and Iaquinta poked in the
rebound. Natali headed in a second from a corner.

Attendance : 10,500
Assists : n/a, Di Natale (ck)

ASCOLI 1-2

INTER

Ferrante 21 (Pen)

Cruz 51 (Pen)

Mihajlovic 56 (fk)

The appalling Farina gave two charity penalties, almost certainly the one he gave to
Inter was out of guilt for the first. Mihajlovic claimed the points with a stunning free
kick. Coppola made two fantastic saves and Cruz was sent off for nothing.

Farina is a downright embarrassment to Italian football. Hours after the match, about
2.30am in the car park of Milan's Malpensa airport, Inter players were attacked by men
in masks. Cristiano Zanetti who didn't play last night nor has played much this season
came off worst, with a few bruises. They should have attacked the referee instead.

Attendance : 17,235
Red Card : Cruz 86 (Inter)
Assists : Quagliarella (won pen), Martins (won pen), Cruz (won fk)
