EMPOLI

Adriano 3

Vanucchi 64

Cruz 45
Figo 66

Martins 85

Adriano tapped in the first after Berti failed to hold Cambiasso's stinging first time
shot. 13 minutes into the match the Brazilian striker was KTFO after a clash of heads
with Empoli's Raggi. He was stretchered off but regained consciousness later. Inter
increased their lead right at the end of the first half when Cruz took the ball off
Martins then smashed it past Berti. Inter continued to create and waste chances at
will. Vanucchi got Empoli back in the match against the run of play with a magnificent
left foot shot which curled inside the top right corner of Cesar's net. Figo restored
Inter's two goal lead from Martins' lay-off. Man of the match Martins got his name,
deservedly, on the score-sheet when he finished off a wonderful move which involved
five instant passes between five players.

JUVENTUS 2-0

SIENA

Cannavaro 13
Trezeguet 53

Cannavaro headed in his first goal of the season from a Camoranesi corner. Early in the
second half Siena's goalkeeper lost his mind. Camoranesi hit a long ball forward and
Mirante rushed off his, out of the box and about 20 yards from goal, Trezeguet headed
the ball past him before dropping it into an empty net. Abbiati should have been sent
off for handling outside the box and, to make matters worse, from the resulting free
kick after Chiesa had struck the post Abbiati made a fantastic save from Alberto's
follow-up.

MILAN

Gilardino 23, 60

Shevchenko 71

The magic triangle combined for the first goal. As Shevchenko received a pass from
Kaka' he pulled the ball away from a defender with his right before playing an inch
perfect through pass to Gilardino with his left and despite a heavy first touch he
recovered to tap past Amelia. Vargas should have been sent off for cross-checking
Gattuso. Colucci almost sliced Gilardino's goal-bound header in his own net but the
ball rebounded off the underside of the crossbar. Gilardino tapped in a second after
more quality build-up play between Serginho, Shevchenko and Seedorf. Shevchenko
headed in a third from a Pirlo free kick.

Attendance : 18,000
Assists : Shevchenko, Seedorf, Pirlo (fk)

MESSINA 1-1

REGGINA

Di Napoli 25

Cozza 87

Di Napoli gave Messina the lead with an excellent header at the near post. Tedesco
should have been sent off for an evil foul on Aronica. I can't imagine he'll escape a
ban. Reggina scored a controversial equaliser. As Storari went up to clear a cross he
punched team-mate Zanchi in the head, KTFO, as Zanchi fell Cozza headed into an
empty net.

ROMA 4-0

CHIEVO

Totti 32 (pen), 39
Perrotta 65
Taddei 85

After almost tearing a hole into the net with the most emphatic of penalty
conversions Totti ran over to the athletics track, pulled a doll dressed in full Roma kit
with his son's name (Cristiano) on the back of the shirt, put it on his knee and bottle
fed it before kissing it on the cheek. That's the best celebration EVER and can only be
topped if next time he converts a penalty he changes the doll's nappy. Roma's captain
beat Squizzi for a second time a grass-cutter. D'Anna earned a second yellow for
smashing an elbow in Taddei's face. Perrotta made up for a shocking miss with a
fiercely strong long range shot. Two of Roma's youngsters combined to give the
hardworking Taddei an easy tap-in. 16 year old genetic freak Stefano Okaka (Italian)
who at 6ft, 80kg/176lbs/12.6 stone is actually the same height as Nonda but
heavier (!), sent Frenchman Kharja down the right and he fired a low cross into the
box.

Attendance : 20,000
Red Card : D'Anna 53 (Chievo)
Assists : Tommasi (won pen), Mexes, Totti, Kharja

centre was tapped in by Obodo.
