INTER 0-1

MILAN

Kaka' 74

One of the poorest Milan derbies in recent memory. The game started well with an
early chance for Rui Costa. Inter took control but nothing of note happened until
right at the end of the half. Nesta made a superb clearance as Vieri pulled down
Martins' cross, Stankovic touched the ball to the edge of the box and Veron hit a
blistering shot which Dida brilliantly parried to safety.

Milan did nothing with their marginally superior possession second half possession.
The winner came from a set piece. Cordoba leapt above Maldini to head clear a
corner. The ball fell to Gattuso who his luck from the edge of the box, his shot took
a deflection off Kaka' wrong footing Toldo. Derby killer Serginho picked out Crespo
with a great cross but he failed to hit the target. At the other end Cambiasso clever
dummied Favalli's centre but Vieri's weak shot wasn't going to trouble Dida. A clever
ball from Vieri released Emre on the left but with Martins poised to strike on the
back post Costacurta cleared.

Inter's 40 match unbeaten run comes to an end. The defending by both teams,
particularly Milan, was outstanding. Adriano came off the bench in the second
half and did nothing. He's struggled ever since the injury and Real
Madrid/Chelsea rumours surfaced.
