SERIE A ROUND 6

19 October 2003

MILAN 1-0 LAZIO
Pirlo 38

Lopez wasted an early chance when he headed wide inside five minutes from Fiore's
deflected cross. Milan were very fortunate to get a Lazio goal ruled out for offside.
After a sloppy start Milan began to dominate. Pirlo took forever to cross a ball,
Kaka laid it off to Cafu, he hit a violent first time shot towards goal, Peruzzi parried,
Shevchenko hooked the ball back to Inzaghi, Mihajlovic charged down his shot with
his hand and while Inzaghi appealed Pirlo hooked into the corner. Mihajlovic was once
again lucky to escape after stopping a Shevchenko shot with a hand. A fantastic bit of
play from Kaka sent Gattuso away on the break, he found Cafu in acres of space
on the right, Cafu brilliantly side stepped his marker and really should have scored
but dragged his shot well wide.

Milan kept up the pressure in the second half. Pancaro forced Peruzzi into making a
great save at his near post. Lazio's lone reply was a shot by Claudio Lopez off a Pirlo
mistake. Stam came to Lazio's rescue twice by making last ditch tackles on Shevchenko
and Inzaghi. In the 88th minute Shevchenko shot against the post and Kaka's follow-up
was cleared off the line by Oddo.

The ref, Racalbuto, was AWFUL. Mihajlovic should have been sent off for two handballs
and he gave Lazio every 50-50 decision. Despite that they were thoroughly outclassed.

Panorama are this weeks unofficial sponsors. They advertised a calendar for Adriana Volpe
before this match. Not sure how many people will go out and buy the calendar though
because, in typical Italian fashion, they showed everything in the advert.

BOLOGNA 2-2 PERUGIA
Dalla Bona 72 Rossini 49 (og)
Rossini 78 Bothroyd 69

Rossini headed Grosso's free kick past his own 'keeper. A terrible blunder by Pagliuca gifted
Perugia a second goal. Following some sloppy defending he tried to help out his defence but
kicked the ball against Do Prado leaving Bothroyd with an empty net. Dalla Bona punished
another goalkeeping blunder at the other end when Kalac came out for a cross and dropped the
ball. Rossini made up for his earlier mistake with an excellent equaliser. Nervo crossed from
the right, Pecchia shot and Rossini back heeled past Kalac.

Attendance :
Assists : Do Prado, Pecchia

CHIEVO 1-1 SAMPDORIA
Amauri 24 Diana 59

Lots of chances in this match but only two goals. Amauri turned his marker before rifling a
shot past Antonioli. Bazzani headed Yanigisawa's cross to Diana, he took one touch to
control the ball and another to smash into the bottom corner.

Attendance : 13,890
Assists : Santana, Bazzani

MODENA 2-0 LECCE
Vignaroli 63
Kamara 93

Former Juventino Amoruso, who is absolute cheating scumbag, got Konan a yellow card with a
dive and ironically Konan got a second yellow for trying to win a penalty. A brilliant pass from
Kamara set-up Vignaroli for the first and he returned the favour with a cross which Kamara
headed past Amelia.

Attendance : 15,850
Assists : Kamara, Vignaroli
Red Card : Konan 51 (Lecce)

REGGINA 2-1 SIENA
Mozart 22 Flo 94
Leon 93

Mozart blasted Reggina into the lead after Siena failed to clear a corner. Reggina
then survived a Siena fight back before regaining control of the match. After
missing several chances Leon made the points safe after Giacchetta found him with
an absolutely brilliant first time pass. Flo scored a minute later but it was too late
to deny Reggina their first win of the season.

Assists : Paredes, Giacchetta
Attendance : 20,190

ROMA 2-0 PARMA
Samuel 28
Cassano 60

Totti headed against the underside of the crossbar, it appeared as though the ball crossed
the line, Emerson should have done better from the rebounded but headed over. A mistake
by Ferrari gave Totti a second chance but this time he was denied by Frey. A superb piece
of juggling by De Rossi on the left flank took him away from the Parma defence and his
centre was despatched by Samuel - with a left foot volley! Having dribbled through the
Roma defence Adriano shot straight at Pelizzoli. Frey made another brilliant save to deny
Rossi but was helpless minutes later when the youngster's superb cross was headed into
the corner by Cassano. For the second time in the match Frey was lucky to see Totti's shot
bounce off the underside of the crossbar.

Assists : De Rossi (x2)
Attendance : 54,000

UDINESE 2-0 EMPOLI
Sensini 30
Iaquinta 34

Udinese continued their recent good form with a comfortable victory. Jankulovski's free kick
was brilliantly headed past Bucci by Sensini. Sloppy defending gifted Udinese a second four
minutes later. Cribari swapped passes with his 'keeper but didn't notice Castroman steam
in a strip him of the ball leaving Iaquinta with a tap-in.

Assists : Jankulovski (fk), Castroman
Attendance : 16,000

18 October 2003

BRESCIA 2-2 INTER
Baggio 22 Cruz 62
Caracciolo 49 Vieri 87 (Pen)

After brilliantly saving from Matuzalem Toldo did a Cudicini. He flew off his line to prevent
Brechet's header going out for a corner, caught the ball and dropped it straight at the feet
of everyone's favourite Buddhist - Bobby Baggio, 1-0. Caracciolo headed in a second after the
break. Cruz came on for Kily 'scapegoat' Gonzalez to try and save Cuper's job. He headed Inter
back into the match from a Recoba free kick then took a total dive to win the game tying
penalty.

It will take Zac a few months to get the players used to his famous 3-4-3 system. He couldn't
have wished for a more difficult start - home to Roma, well actually away to Roma would have
really sucked.

Attendance : 25,000
Assists : Baggio, Recoba (fk), Cruz (won pen)

ANCONA 2-3 JUVENTUS
Viali 57 Miccoli 30, 47
Ganz 90 Zambrotta 44

A spectacular goal-line clearance by Montero prevented Ancona from taking the lead.
Sommese tried one of his own but someone must have forgotten to tell him handball isn't
legal. I still haven't figured out why the Ancona player besieged the ref afterwards for starters
Sommese should have been sent off. Zambrotta thumped in a second from Miccoli's
short corner, very short in his case. Early in the second half Miccoli scored with his head!
Juve switched off and quickly conceded, Viali headed in a Ganz cross. Ganz was booked
for taking a dive in the box but eventually managed to beat Buffon with a nice shot into the
corner.

Attendance : 25,000
Assists : Miccoli (ck), Zambrotta, Ganz, Anderssen
