SERIE A ROUND 20

8 February 2004

ROMA 4-0 JUVENTUS
Dacourt 13
Totti 53 (Pen)
Cassano 70, 84

Dacourt, who along with Gattuso is the best DM in Serie A, gave Roma a dream start with
his first goal of the season. As Totti's corner was poorly cleared Dacourt latched onto the ball
and shot goalwards, his first effort was charged down his second burst the net. Totti came
within inches of extending Roma's lead 10 minutes later. Lima found his captain with a superb
30 yard crossfield pass, Totti took the ball on his chest and crashed a volley against the
underside of the crossbar.

Montero conceded a penalty with a foul on Cassano. Totti's blasted the ball in off the post.
Montero earned a second yellow, though it should have been a straight red, for blatantly
kicking Totti in front of Collina. Newman threw down his cigar in disgust. Cassano added a
third with a superb cushioned volley. Pelizzoli saved a poorly struck Trezeguet penalty.
Zebina and Trezguet hit the deck when challenging for the ball, Emerson took possession
and hit a brilliant pass with the outside of his foot to Mancini, Mancini ran down the wing
and stood in front of two Juve players waiting for Emeron to arrive before playing a one-two,
charging inside the box and whipping a fantastic first time cross to the back post, Cassano's
perfectly placed standing header finishing off a fantastic move to give Roma a resounding
victory and put them within five points of Milan.

Capello switched to a 4-4-2. Totti and Cassano played in attack. Dacourt and Emerson totally
dominated the midfield allowing everyone license to get forward. Nedved was completly nullfied
and if you take out Nedved you take out 90% of Juve's attack because without him the team
have no imagination and Trezgeuet is rendered impotent. Juve are still not of the title race
yet as both Milan and Roma have some tough fixtures over the next 6 weeks, Juve's only
difficult match (on paper) is against Milan in mid March.

Milan were creating chances at will but had to wait until Rui Costa came off the bench
to score. Shevchenko touched a free kick and Rui Costa curled the ball over the wall and
it crashed in off the crossbar, fantastic goal. Fellow substitute Inzaghi unveiled a new
penalty winning routine. Having drew Kalac off his line, as he went past he put his weight on
his right ankle and dropped to the ground. Pancaro was sent off for chopping down Fusani
in the box. Fresi's brilliant penalty left Dida stranded. Perugia almost snatched a draw at
the end but Milan held on to record a seventh successive league victory.

PARMA 0-3 LAZIO
							Lopez 40 (Pen), 57
							Corradi 65

Lazio were awarded a penalty when Corradi 'fell' under a challenge from Cannavaro, funny
how the ref managed to miss Couto pushing a Parma player to the ground on the same
corner. Marichionni should have equalised early in the second half but dragged his shot
wide of the post. Frey was lucky to get away with a suicidal run out of his box, Lopez' lob
bouncing just over the bar. Lazio then destroyed Parma on the break. Lopez struck following
by Corradi and he returned the favour twice, the first time Corradi scored and on the the second
only a amazing save by Frey denied him a certain goal. Cheating scumbag Couto got away with
a blatant handball and Paolo ended a bad day for the Cannavaro family by getting himself sent
off for dissent.

front of Cannavaro to volley Samp level from a corner. Adriano gained possesion in the box
(standing in an offside position) following an untimely slip by Conte, Vieri stole the ball
off his feet and shot Inter back in front but Cipriani conned the ref into awarding a penalty
following minimal contact from Cannavaro, who really should know better.

against team-mate Barzagli then punched it into his own net. Chevanton doubled Lecce's
lead with a free kick. Luciano got Chevio back in the match early in the second half following
another goalkeeping error, this time from Chimenti. Cassetti restored Lecce's two goal
lead when he headed in Franceschini's cross. D'Anna converted a late penalty but Lecce

re-take a penalty and second time round Pagliuca saved it.
