SERIE A ROUND 11

30 November 2003

BRESCIA 1-2 UDINESE
Caracciolo 64 Jorgensen 46
							Fava 55

Brescia goalkeeper Agliardi took the pace off a backpass and as he was about to
clear the ball, he slipped leaving Jorgensen with an empty net. 10 minutes later
Fava beat him with a shot from the edge of the box. Baggio went off with a back
injury. Caracciolo scored a fine goal but it was Udinese who finished stronger,
Castroman shot against the crossbar and Jorgensen wasted a great chance.

Attendance : 14,000
Assists : Iaquinta, Mauri

MILAN 2-0 MODENA
Shevchenko 23, 67

Modena decided against sitting back and defending and instead took the
game to Milan. Kamara should have given them the lead but shot straight at
Dida. Shevchenko chested down an excellent long pass before turning and
hooking the ball into the corner. A stunning goal line clearance by Ambrosini
denied Amoruso the equalising goal. Another counter attack put Milan out
of sight. After some head tennis in midfield Rui Costa hit a brilliant cushioned
pass to Shevchenko and he raced away before picking his spot. Inzaghi should
have added a third.

Attendance : 55,000
Assists : Pirlo, Rui Costa

PARMA 3-1 CHIEVO
Morfeo 52 Pellissier 73
Marchionni 70
Gilardinho 80 (Pen)

Incredible back luck denied Parma a first half lead. Barone hit the post with a
stunning 30 yard effort and after Frezzolini brilliantly saved from Gilardino,
Bresciano's follow up was cleared off the line.

Morfeo's early second half goal brought Chievo to life. Amauri shot just wide
and Sala wasted a great chance from a corner when he headed against the bar.
A fantastic first time cross by Junior was headed in by Marchionni and Pellissier
turned in Amauri's cross to make it 2-1. Marchionni was denied a second goal by
the referee, he scored after Gilardino dived in the box, instead of letting the
goal stand the ref blew for a penalty, idiot.

Attendance : 15,000
Assists : Gilardino, Junior, Gilardino (won pen)

PERUGIA 1-1 EMPOLI
Vryzas 39 Rocchi 3

It was role reversal on the first goal, Di Natale floated over a superb cross
and Rocchi lobbed over Tardioli. Bucci saved Ze Maria's weakly struck penalty,
awarded for handball. Loumpoutis launched a huge long ball downfield, everyone
missed it apart from Vryzas, he took the ball on his chest, turned and smashed
in off the post from 30 yards, absolutely fabulous goal.

Attendance : 20,000
Assists : Di Natale, Loumpoutis
Red Card : Vryzas 93 (Perugia)

REGGINA 0-0 BOLOGNA

Long ball, crap pitch, crap match, crap teams.

Attendance : 19,000

ROMA 3-1 LECCE
Mancini 18 Chevanton 88
Carew 45
Totti 76

Cassano looked offside as he ran onto Dacourt's pass, he made his way inside the
box and presented Mancini with a gift, 1-0. Just as Lecce were threatening to score
Emerson returned a clearance and Carew shot Roma further in front. Totti made
up for a farcical miss when he turned in Carew's cross at the back post. Chevanton
became the first player to score a goal against Roma at the Olimpico when he hit
a stunning first time shot into the top corner.

Attendance : 51,000
Assists : Cassano, Emerson, Carew, Ledesma (fk)

SAMPDORIA 2-0 ANCONA
Bazzani 66
Flachi 89

Flachi and Yanigisawa came off the bench to win the match for Samp. Yanigisawa
rolled the ball out wide to Flachi and his excellent first time cross was powerfully
headed in by Bazzani. Flachi's quick turn and shot caught out Scarpi in the Ancona
goal.

Attendance : 23,000
Assists : Flachi, Yanigisawa

29 November 2003

SIENA 3-0 LAZIO
Taddei 40, 42
Menegazzo 94

Lazio's right side, missing the injured Stam, was breached twice in two
minutes as Siena went into half time with an unlikely two goal lead.
Taddei converted a centre from ex Roma player Guigou then Ventola
inadvertently flicked on another right wing cross and Taddei slammed the
ball into the bottom corner. Stankovic was sent off for hurling abuse at a
linesman. Flo added to his collection of shocking misses. Deep into injury
time, despite the presence of four Lazio defenders, Taddei left substitute
Menegazzo with a tap-in.

Lazio are an absolute joke without Stam. They really need Claudio Lopez to
recapture last season's form (he didn't play today) if they are to claim a
Champions League place.

Attendance : 13,500
Assists : Guigou, Ventola, Taddei
Red Card : Stankovic 67 (Lazio)

JUVENTUS 1-3 INTER
Montero 89 Cruz 12, 69
							Martins 75

In the absence of Vieri, Materazzi and Recoba free kick duties were handed to
Cruz and he struck a fantastic shot from 30 yards straight into the top corner.
Camoranesi should have equalised but blazed over the bar after Trezeguet
flicked on a free kick and Cordoba's brilliantly timed tackle denied the
Frenchman moments later.

Gamarra wasted a free header and Buffon was lucky not to concede a penalty when
he took out both Martins and the ball after the teenager was played in by a brilliant
reverse pass from Christiano Zanetti. His namesake Javier Zanetti charged down
Juve's left flank before passing to Cruz, his initial shot was saved but he calmly
tucked away the rebound. 5 minutes later Martins, who was the victim of some
horrendous fouls throughout the match, caught Legrottaglie off guard as he attempted
to play the ball back to goal, his incredible pace took him clear of the defender and his
shot squired in off Buffon. Montero scored a thoroughly undeserved consolation goal
when Inter failed to clear a corner.

Another brilliant performance from Martins and Cruz , who, unlike Vieri, is the
man for the big occasion. Inter will live to regret their refusal to sell the bone idle,
over-rated, injury prone choker.

Inter's first win over Juve in Turin for a decade and their first win over Juventus
since 1998. Juve's first Serie A loss in 11 months.

Attendance : 53,883
Assist : Martins (won fk)
