SERIE A ROUND 4

See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil

Serie A used to have the best officiating in the World. Not anymore.

29 SEPTEMBER 2002

INTER 2-1 CHIEVO
Vieri 15, 78 (Pen) Marazzina 2

Marrazina gave Chievo a shock early lead when he stole in between Materazzi
and Cordoba to head in Passoni's brilliant cross. Dalmat released Vieri down
the left flank, Vieri swapped passes with Recoba and as he ran into the box
Chievo predictably attempted to play offside, Vieri was offside but the linesman
kept his flag down, 1-1. Recoba and Vieri missed guilt edged chances to make
the game safe before the ref game them a helping hand and awarded a penalty
when Vieri dived in the box. Vieri smashed the ball past Lupatelli. Conceicao
managed to get himself sent off after being FOULED.

Attendance : 57,674
Red Card : Conceicao 92 (Inter)
Assists : Passoni, Recoba, Vieri (won pk)

BOLOGNA 1-0 PIACENZA
Della Rocca 65

Cruz had to be taken off at the half hour mark after Guardalben flattened
him when coming out for a cross. His replacement, 18 year old Della Rocca
scored the winner with a super header.

Attendance : 20,000
Assist : Colucci
Red Card : Falcone 80 (Bologna)

BRESCIA 2-3 ROMA
Baggio 46 (pen) Totti 30 (pen), 41, 81
Schopp 83

Roma should have been awarded a penalty when Tare handled a Totti free
kick. Emerson took it upon himself to win one. Totti converted. Totti got a
second chance on a free kick after Bachini charged the wall. Second time
was the charm for the Roma captain as he sent the ball dipping over the
wall into the net. At the end of the first half total bullshit. Filippini was
booked for diving in the box yet when Baggio tried the same trick he won a
penalty. Antonioli pulled off a fantastic save, Tare went for the loose ball
and threw himself down in the box under no contact whatsoever, one of
THE most blatant and pathetic dives I have EVER seen. This time Baggio
converted. Dellas was sent off for trying to foul Bachini, he missed but
Bachini made sure he walked. Totti completed his hat-trick with a marvellous
individual goal, he dribbled past two players then let rip with an explosive
right foot shot. Schopp latched onto a loose ball and drilled past Antonioli.
Bachini got a second yellow for bad mouthing the ref.

After this match you could be forgiven for having sympathy with Capello and
Sensi over their officiating claims.

Attendance : 19,000
Assists : Emerson (won pen), Tare (won pen), ?
Red Cards : A Filippini 44 (Brescia), Dellas 65 (Roma), Bachini 93 (Brescia)

COMO 1-1 REGGINA
Carbone 18 (pen) Nakamura 63 (pen)

Como were given a penalty for a totally accidental handball by Vargas.
Premiership jobber Carbone converted. Nakamura equalised from the spot
when Padalino fouled Pierini.

Attendance : 10,000
Assist : Pierini (won pen)

MODENA 2-1 TORINO
Sculli 27, 53 Ferrante 63 (pen)

Sculli opened the scoring with a fantastic volley. Milaneto lobbed a ball into
the box, Sculli flicked the ball off his shoulder, turned and lashed the ball
past Bucci. Sculli punished non-marking to head in his second from a free
kick. Ferrante converted a penalty awarded for handball.

Attendance : 15,000
Assists : Milaneto, Mauri (fk)

PERUGIA 1-3 EMPOLI
Rezai 8 Saudati 21
						Di Natale 42
						Rocchi 66

Rezai headed Perugia into the lead from a corner. Saudati equalised with
a deft flick volley and inadvertently laid on the second for Di Natale when
attempting to poke the ball into the net after a mix-up in the Perugia box.
Giampieretti punted a long ball downfield, Di Loreto fell over leaving
Rocchi one vs one with Rossi, 1-3. Perugia had a goal correctly disallowed
for offside and also struck a post but given their defending they didn't
deserve a share of the points.

Attendance : 8,000
Assists : Di Loreto, Di Natale, Saudati, Giampieretti

UDINESE 1-0 ATALANTA
Sensini 59

Sensini headed in Pizzaro's free kick.

Attendance : 14,000

28 SEPTEMBER 2002

JUVENTUS 2-2 PARMA
Tudor 87 Nakata 66
Del Piero 95 Adriano 81

Nakata gave Parma the lead with an excellent low volley from Emanuele
Filippini's cross. Adriano looked to have made the points safe when he
tapped in Mutu's centre. Tudor headed in a corner, Lamouchi was then
sent off for protesting. Five minutes into injury time Del Piero handled
a deep cross before brushing aside Ferrari, rounding Frey and slamming
the ball into the net.

BULLSHIT.

Attendance : 40,000
Red Card : Lamouchi 88 (Parma)
Assists : E Filippini, Mutu, Salas (ck), Ferrara

LAZIO 1-1 MILAN
Claudio Lopez 51 Maldini 7

Maldini headed Milan into the lead from a Rivaldo free kick. It was one way
traffic after that, the hosts spurned chance after chance until Claudio Lopez
equalised early in the second half, tapping into an empty net after Simic
crashed into Dida as he want to claim the ball. Peruzzi made a tremendous
save to deny Ambrosini from an outstanding Kaladze cross. Ambrosini was
shown red for a wild, two footed murder attempt on Stankovic.

Attendance : 70,000
Assist : Rivaldo (fk)
Red Card : Ambrosini 89 (Milan)
