SERIE A ROUND 29

19 April 2003

JUVENTUS 2-1 ROMA
Del Piero 31 (Pen), 40 Montella 43

Nedved won Juve a penalty, Del Piero converted. Del Piero put Juve 2-0 up
minutes later following a quick move down the right. Nedved attempted a one-two
with Camoranesi, Emerson intercepted but Nedved quickly regained possession
charged downfield and sent a cross to the back post where Del Piero tapped in.
Thuram missed a Nedved back pass, Totti pulled the ball back to Montella, 2-1.
I don't know what happened during the rest of the match as I was watching
Real Madrid vs Barca.

Attendance :
Assists : Nedved (won pen), Nedved, Totti

BRESCIA 0-1 INTER
								Crespo 93

Zanetti was harshly sent off for fouling Toni. Vieri walked shortly after coming on as
a substitute. He threw an elbow at Bilica, which the ref missed then minutes later Bilica
threw what can only be loosely described as a punch at Vieri and Vieri retaliated with a
half arsed headbutt. Red cards for both. More shenanigans followed. Appiah wasted
the best chance of the match when he blazed over from close range. Crespo scored
the winner deep into injury time from a rebound.

Attendance : 23,000
Red Cards : C Zanetti 34 (Inter), Bilica 63 (Brescia), Vieri 63 (Inter)

CHIEVO 2-1 REGGINA
Cossato 24 Cossato 41 (og)
Legrottaglie 73

Cossato tapped in a rebound after Belardi brilliantly saved a shot from Pellisier.
Cossato sliced a free kick past his own keeper but Legrottaglie restored Chievo's
lead with a header.

Attendance : 11,804
Assist : Corini (fk)

LAZIO 2-1 PIACENZA
Inzaghi 60 De Cesare 46
Corradi 74

Couto must be mellowing in his old age because he let Di Francesco run straight past
him, normally he would have chopped him down, De Francesco centred and
De Cesare scored. Inzaghi held off a defender before hitting a shot in off a post to
equalise. Corradi headed into an empty net after Orlandoni saved an Inzaghi back heal.

Attendance : 20,000
Assists : Di Francesco, Lopez

MILAN 0-1 EMPOLI
								Di Natale 11

Rocchi picked up a ball in midfield, powered past Nesta and knocked the ball
into the box, Dida came out and missed allowing Di Natale to tap into an empty
net. Serginho should have been sent off for elbowing Vanucchi. Vanucchi could have
embarrassed Milan further but fluffed his shot when Milan went to sleep on a free
kick. Tomasson finally forced Berti into making a save with a stinging shot. Milan
somehow contrived to miss a free kick from inside the box. Having spilled a tame
effort from Laursen, Berti recovered superbly to deny Inzaghi on the rebound.

It's typical of Milan this season to follow up a superb performance against Inter
to a loss against jobbers.

Attendance : 55,000
Assist : Rocchi
Red Card : Pratali 70 (Empoli)

MODENA 3-2 BOLOGNA
Kamara 14 Signori 20, 46
Sculli 72, 87

Kamara dribbled away from a tackle, played a one-two with Vignarolli and as he
went past the 'keeper he fell, rolled over and handled the ball over the line though
it looked unintentional. At the other end Signori equalised with a nonchalant free
kick and put Bologna into the lead in the first minute of the second half. Paramatti
failed to close down Sculli as he ran onto a raking Kamara pass, Sculli brushed him
aside before drilling the ball into the corner and then headed in Milanetto's free kick.

Attendance : 17,000
Assists : Vignarolli, ?, Milanetto (fk)
Red Card : Campedelli 92 (Modena)

PARMA 1-0 TORINO
Mutu 75 (Pen)

Parma kept missing chances before Mutu finally scored from the spot after Gilardino
took a dive in the box.

Attendance : 12,000
Assist : Gilardino (won pen)

PERUGIA 1-0 ATALANTA
Pagliuca 78

Perugia should have been awarded a penalty for handball. Miccoli volleyed against
the crossbar shortly before Atalanta got away with murder. A blistering strike
from Zauri floored Taibi and as the ball dropped Siviglia cleared it from behind the
line with an overhead kick. Pagliuca gave his team a deserved three points with a
beautifully placed shot, his first ever Serie A goal.

Attendance : 7,000

UDINESE 3-2 COMO
Jankulovski 45 Pecchia 59
Pinzi 72 Music 61
Iaquinta 87

Jankulosvki gave Udinese the lead bang on half time with a great half volley.
A rare error from the usually excellent De Sanctis gifted Como the equaliser and
two minutes later Music took a back heel from Amoruso and rolled the ball into
the corner. Pinzi equalised with a stunning 35 yarder which may have took a deflection
off Stellini. Pinzi hit the post with another long range strike and Jankulovski chipped
a shot against the crossbar. Iaquinta crashed home a brilliant free kick minutes from
time. Some awesome goals in this match.

Attendance : 15,000
Assists : Amoruso, Pizarro (fk)
Red Cards : Carbone 87 (Como)
