SERIE A ROUND 21

Milan 2-2 Lazio

Milan fight back from two goals down to grab a point in a breathtaking encounter at the San Siro.
Juventus need half an hour to defeat Parma. Chievo become the second successive team to
complete the Milan double with victory over Inter.

16 February 2003

MILAN 2-2 LAZIO
Inzaghi 62 Stankovic 21
Rivaldo 70 Lopez 30 (Pen)

Pirlo deflected Corradi's cross straight to Lopez, Dida saved his shot but Stankovic pounced on the
rebound, 0-1. As Lopez fired a cross into the box Corradi bounced himself off the back of Nesta,
penalty. Ridiculous decision. Lopez slammed the ball past Dida.

The second half was all Milan. Inzaghi forced Peruzzi into a great save with a low drive. Shevchenko
managed to head wide while practically standing on the goal-line. Inzaghi ran onto a speculative
lob into the box, stayed on his feet, despite being pulled by Favalli, and volleyed over Peruzzi.
Lazio almost immediately restored their two goal, Stankovic's attempted lob came back off the
crossbar. Rivaldo sent a shot into the stands from the edge of the box. Inzaghi won a ball in midfield
and surged down the left wing before squaring to an unmarked Rivaldo at the back post, 2-2.
Shevchenko wasted two more chances. Rivaldo dragged a shot just wide of the post.

Phenomenal match spoiled by an absolutely terrible performance from Shevchenko, terrible of course
unless you happen to support Lazio. Ambrosini was off the charts. He's back to his best which,
unfortunately means an injury is looming, judging on past seasons.

Attendance : 61,000
Assists : Corradi (won pen), Rivaldo, Inzaghi

ATALANTA 0-0 UDINESE

A high paced game with few genuine goalscoring chances and a classic Jancker moment. He chased
down a ball and attempted a first time cross, but missed the ball:)

Attendance : 13,000

EMPOLI 1-1 PERUGIA
Carparelli 7 Vryzas 5

Empoli's young goalkeeper dropped a cross straight to Vryzas , 0-1. A mistake at the other end, from
Milanese, gifted Empoli the equaliser.

Attendance : 5,781

PARMA 1-2 JUVENTUS
Mutu 91 Di Vaio 14
								Tacchinardi 29

Rai spent five minutes discussing yesterday's Man United vs Arsenal FA Cup match presumably
because Taggart was in the stands. Juve scored two set piece goals. Di Vaio from a corner
kick and Tacchinardi with another header. Frey was poor on both goals. Nakata went close with
an overhead kick. Trezeguet volleyed against the post. Mutu pulled a goal back with a free kick.

Attendance : 25,393
Assists : Nedved (ck), Nedved (fk), Mutu (won fk)

PIACENZA 3-1 BOLOGNA
Hubner 19 (Pen) Bellucci 84
Maresca 40
De Cesare 62

Maresca made the most of a silly challenge to win a penalty. The Boss converted. Maresca put
Piacenza 2-0 up with a horrible bobbling shot. Pagliuca saved a second penalty, awarded for handball.
Castellini kicked fresh air when attempting to clear a long ball, allowing De Cesare to steal a third.
Another shocking mistake at the other end gave midget Bellucci a rare headed goal.

Attendance : 6,000
Assists : Maresca (won pen), Smit

REGGINA 4-1 COMO
Cozza 33, 38 Caccia 11
Diana 79
Mozart 88

Reggina fell behind to a freak back header. Nakamura missed a penalty but Cozza levelled
with a deflected free kick then put Reggina in front with an excellent header. The hosts were
rewarded for their relentless attacking with two late goals.

Attendance : 24,000
Assists : Juarez, Nakamura, Di Michele, Diana

TORINO 1-1 MODENA
Vergassola 65 Milanetto 58

Milaneto scored after a quick triangle on the edge of the box. On 65 minutes we witnessed the
ASSISTS OF THE SEASON from Marinelli. He was kicked as he ran with the ball but managed to keep
his balance, with his back to play he did a weird dragback type of move then turned, sent a defender
on his arse with a sublime dummy then threaded a perfect pass to Vergassola who lobbed over
Ballotta. Marinelli hit another peach of a pass late on to sent Omolade clear but Ballotta was quick
to react.

Boro really missed the boat with Marinelli. He is an absolute stud judging by his Serie A performances.

Attendance : 20,000
Assists : Fabrini, Marinelli

15 February 2003

CHIEVO 2-1 INTER
Corini 28, 36 (Pens) Vieri 69

Corini converted a penalty harshly awarded for handball. The second penalty was awarded for Zanetti's
push on Pellisier. Okan talked himself into getting sent off for protesting. Vieri tapped in his 19th of
the season when Moro headed Recoba's free kick straight to him. Vieri almost snapped Lupatelli's
wrists with a vicious free kick late on, brilliantly saved by Lupatelli.

Attendance : 34,464
Assists : Pellisier (won pen)

ROMA 0-0 BRESCIA

I hate Brescia, they suck, they are a cancer on Serie A. Their fifth 0-0 this season. I blame them for
taking Serie A down to 2.55 goals per game, the goal average should be in the mid 2.6s

Attendance : 45,000
