thriller.

9 February 2003

BOLOGNA 2-3 ATALANTA
Signori 68, 72 (Pens) Pinardi 27, 49
								Rossini 94

Pinardi scored with a shot on the turn then put Atalanta 0-2 up with a low drive. In a moment of
utter hilairty Cruz dribbled his way into the box, turned inside a defener, kicked the ground then
fell, penalty - obviously. Bologna were awarded a second penalty for handball. Signori converted
both. Zanchi was strechered off with what looked like a knee injury. Vugrinec cleared Olive's
goalbound header off his line. Taibi made a fantastic save from a Signori free kick and Rossini
scored a deserved winner deep into injury time when he got in front of Paramatti to volley in
Tramazzani's cross.

Assists : Rossini, Castellini, Cruz (won pen), Tramazzani

BRESCIA 0-0 CHIEVO

I hate Brescia. That's their fourth 0-0 of the season. To be fair it wasn't a bad match, just no goals.

Atttendance : 14,000

COMO 2-2 PARMA
Caccia 66 Mutu 30,88 (Pens)
Amoruso 78

Paolo Cannavaro made a headed clearance off the line that Puyol would have been proud of.
It was absolutely amazing. Both teams suckered the ref into awarding penalties. Mutu scored
his. Caccia has his penalty, won by Carbone, saved TWICE by Frey! The ref made him re-take
the penalty after Lamoucchi decided to run alongside him as he struck the ball. Caccia equaliser
just past the hour mark, heading in Music's cross. Amoruso put Como in front but a sloppy
challenge by Music on Cannavaro gave Mutu a second penalty goal.

Assists : Mutu (won pen), Music, Carbone, Cannavaro (won pen)

INTER 3-0 REGGINA
Vieri 10
Kallon 39, 42 (Pen)

Vieri opened the scoring with an excellent volley which fly in off the post. He then made sure he
missed Italy's friendly against Portugal in mid-week by picking up an 'injury'. His replacement Kallon
bagged two goals in three minutes. The first a tap in after Belardi failed to hold a tame shot and the
second from the penalty spot following an Emre dive. Kallon wasted a great chance to complete his
hat-trick. Emre picked up an injury and the ref gave a penalty to Reggina for handball then changed
mind.

Atttendance : 65,000
Assists : Cordoba, Emre (won pen)

LAZIO 1-1 TORINO
Simeone 34 Ferrante 71

Chiesa struck the crossbar wiith a Van Basten style volley from wide left on goal. Cesar went close
with two long range efforts. Simeone headed Lazio in front from a Chiesa corner. Lazio had penalty
appears turned down when Cesar was floored in the box and Lopez headed against the crossbar.
Ferrante headed in the equaliser from a super Marinelli cross. Super Donkey Couto was sent off for
a shocking two footed lunge on Carraciolo. Why is garbage like Couto still playing in Serie A?

Atttendance : 45,000
Assists : Chiesa (ck), Marinelli
Red Card : Couto 91 (Lazio)

MODENA 1-1 ROMA
Kamara 42 Dellas 90

Mayer chipped a glorious 50yd pass deep from his own half to Kamara and he sent a high lob over
the onrushing Pellizolli. Roma kept pumping long balls and crossed into the box, one of them finally
paid off when Grieco inadvertently headed on Tomassi's cross and Dellas headed into the corner.

Atttendance : 17,500
Assist : Mayer

PERUGIA 1-0 MILAN
Miccoli 36

Inzaghi flicked on a beautiful long pass from Roque Junior, Rui Costa skipped a tackle and a lucky
bounce left Inzaghi with a clear sight of goal but he shot straight at Kalac. Miccoli was booked for
taking a tumble in the box minute later he sent an absolutly incredibly violent half volley screaming
into the top corner. Awesome, awesome, awesome goal. Seedorf and Inzaghi missed absolute sitters.
Shevchenko selfishly shot from a tight angle with Tomasson unmarked in front of goal. At full time
Perugia celebrated as if they had won the scudetto.

Atttendance : 20,000
Assist : Vryzas

8 February 2003

UDINESE 2-2 PIACENZA
Jankulovski 18 Hubner 77
Muzzi 84

Jankulovski controlled a ball with his arm before poking under Guardlaben. Absolutely blatant handball,
the linesman will get a suspension. Hubner levelled with a typical poachers goal, reacting quickly
after Maresca hit a volley against him. A excellent reverse pass from Jankulovski found Muzzi and
he shot first time to give rapidly improving Udinese all three points.

Atttendance : 15,000
Assists : ?, Maresca, Jankulovski

JUVENTUS 1-0 EMPOLI
Trezeguet 6 (Pen)

Trezeguet converted a penalty awarded for handball. Trezeguet blew chances either side of half time.
Di Vaio missed an open goal when he attempted an overhead kick after the 'keeper had parried from
Nedved. Vanucchi cleared a Trezeguet shot off his line. Empoli almost snatched a point late on.
Grella sent a speculative drive just wide of the post and Di Natale blazed his cross horribly wide.
