CHIEVO UP TO THEIR OLD TRICKS

15 SEPTEMBER 2002

BRESCIA 1-2 PIACENZA
Bachini 68 Montano 72
						Hubner 79

Bachini took a pass from Matuzalem, cut infield and curled the ball inside the
post. Montano played a one-two with Di Francesco and timed his run to
perfection to break Brescia's offside trap, his first touch took him away from
Srnicek and the second took the ball into the net. Huber had his back to goal
and was surrounded by four players when he received a pass, turned, dribbled
past two of them then bent the ball into the top corner. Phenomenal strike.

Assists : Matuzalem, Di Francesco, ?

PERUGIA 2-0 REGGINA
Miccoli 51
Tedesco 79

Miccoli latched onto a loose ball following a defensive mix-up to score his first
Serie A goal. Tedesco made it 2-0 from Milanese's cross.

Missed the match as I forgot it had been played before Brescia vs Piacenza
and missed the highlights on Domenica Sportivo, which is now presented by
Michael Bolton.

Attendance : 15,000
Assist : Milanese

JUVENTUS 3-0 ATALANTA
Del Piero 27 (Pen), 34
Fresi 91

Del Piero smoked Zauri in the box and the midfielder stupidly decided to kick
him, penalty. Del Piero converted then lashed in a second from Nedved's cross.
Fresi came on as a second half substitute and upstaged everyone by hitting a
tremendous first time strike from the edfe of the box past Taibi.

LAZIO 2-3 CHIEVO
Simeone 5 D'Anna 14
Corradi 64 Bierhoff 47
						Della Morte 70

We've heard this before but Chievo's offside trap gifted Lazio the lead. Simeone
with a nice finish from a Lopez cross. D'Anna arrived from deep to power a
header past Peruzzi. Stankovic, Lazio's best player last season, smashed a
volley against the post. Bierhoff got Chievo back in the lead after playing a
one-two with Marazzina and scoring . . . with his feet! Corradi scored against
his former club with a bullet header from another Lopez cross. Della Morte ran
onto a pass, skipped a tackle from donkey Couto then lobbed the ball over the
advancing Peruzzi. Super finish. Inzaghi missed a sitter in injury time.

Attendance : 40,000
Assists : Lopez, Franceschini, Marazzina, Lopez, Franceschini

UDINESE 1-1 PARMA
Alberto 54 Adriano 24

Udinese failed to capitalise on several early chances and fell behind when Parma's
two star strikers combined, Adriano beating De Sanctis at the neat post from
Mutu's cross. Muzzi latched onto a long ball out of defence and passed to
Jancker, he played in Jorgensen with an excellent first time pass and Alberto
tapped in the Dane's centre. Jancker missed an open goal following a superb
run by Jankulovski. Adriano was denied what would have been an undeserved
winner by a superb save from De Sanctis.

De Sanctis has been tipped as a hot prospect for years. This may be his
breakthrough season.

Attendance : 15,000
Assist : Mutu, Jorgensen

14 SEPTEMBER 2002

MODENA 0-3 MILAN
						Inzaghi 18, 90
						Simic 54

Milan worked a superb opener. Seedorf knocked the ball into Rui Costa, he played
a one two with Tomasson before letting the ball run for Inzaghi who drilled it
into the corner. Modena's 67 year old goalkeeper Marco Ballotta made two
amazing saves from Inzaghi headers. Pirlo laid on the next two goals, a corner
kick headed in by Simic and a typically brilliant ball over the top to Inzaghi.
Rivaldo, who came on for Tomasson in the second half scored with an outrageous
back heel but the goal was chalked off for offside.

Assists : Rui Costa, Pirlo (ck), Pirlo

BOLOGNA 2-1 ROMA
Cruz 59, 92 Batistuta 44 (Pen)

Roma were awarded a penalty when Paramatti kicked Cafu as he was about to
shoot. Batistuta made no mistake. Montella vollyed following great work by
Cafu and Batistuta. Cruz headed in a Signori free kick. Montella wasted a chance
to put Roma back in front and a terrible injury time mistake by Panucci gave
the victory. Cruz latched onto the 'defenders' hospital pass and played the
ball wide to Zaccardo who had ran into the space left by public liability
Panucci, Zaccardo crossed and Cruz headed in his second goal of the match.

Assists : Cafu (won pen), Signori (fk), Zaccardo

INTER 1-0 TORINO
Vieri 23

Vieri scored with a brilliant header after Dalmat muscled his way past two
defenders before sending a cross into the box. Torino had what looked like
a legit goal dissalowed for offside. Comotto was sent off for a blatant
headbutt on Materazzi. Crespo and Vieri missed second half chances.

Assist : Dalmat
Red Card : Comotto 43 (Torino)
