Serginho's cross. Shevchenko took a tumble in the box after running into
Torricelli, penalty. His weak spot kick was saved by Manninger. Gattuso was
sent off for deliberate handball. Morfeo wasted a great chance. Serginho
just failed to make contact with Jose Mari's knockdown with the goal at his
mercy. Gonzalez stole the ball off Albertini deep in midfield and passed to
Adriano. Costacurta tried to tackle him but bounced off and Adriano slotted
the ball into the bottom corner.

Taibi weakly punched out Thuram's deep cross and Tacchinardi volleyed

saved.

LAZIO 5-0 PERUGIA

distance, the ball deflected off Di Loreto onto a post and Lopez kneed the
ball into the net. Fiore scored his first league goal for Lazio when he sprung
Perugia's offside trap and set-up Stankovic for a fourth with a nice chipped
ball over the top. Perugia old boy Liverani had a hand in the fifth, his free
kick was eventually turned in by Negro. Negro's goal seemed to inspire
Perugia! Peruzzi pulled off a back breaking save from Grosso's fierce close
range effort and also made a brilliant save from Semereh's volley. Stankovic
made certain Perugia went home empty handed when he cleared a goal
bound effort.
