19 NOVEMBER 2000

BOLOGNA 2-1 PARMA
Nervo 55 Conceicao 61
Cruz 84

Cruz turned Falsini inside out before whipping a cross into the box, Nervo
powered a header past Buffon. Conceicao equalised with a superb first time
strike. Nervo flicked on a header, Cruz turned in at the far post.

Attendance : 25,000
Assists : Cruz, Fuser, Nervo

BRESCIA 0-0 JUVENTUS

Srnicek earned Brescia a share of the points with two excellent saves from
Zidane, who was the only Juve attacker who even looked like he was trying.
Davids smacked a shot against the post, Inzaghi pissed up the rebound.
Hubner and Turkylmaz tried their best to get Montero sent off with cynical
dives.

Attendance : 25,000

FIORENTINA 3-2 VICENZA
Nuno Gomes 9, 52 Toni 44
Adani 74 Comotto 46

Nuno Gomes put the Viola in-front with a tap-in following a tremendous
run by Lassissi. Zauli launched a long ball, Kallon chipped Toldo, the ball
came back off the crossbar and Toldo made a fantastic save from Toni.
Vicenza were all over the home team and it was no surprise when they took
the lead, Toldo parried Kallon's shot straight to Toni and he bundled the
ball into the net thanks to a push by a Fiorentina player! Fiorentina were
caught from a quickly taken free kick, Longo passed to Comotto who cracked
in a shot from a tight angle.

Leandro was fouled in the box, the ball broke to Nuno Gomes and he tapped
in his second. Toldo made a superb save from Cei, Fiorentina went down the
other end and scored, Adani poking in from Rui Costa's free kick.

Attendance : 26,000
Assists : Lassissi, Longo, Leandro, Rui Costa

LECCE 2-0 BARI
Lucarelli 23, 73 (Pen)

A scrappy opening goal for the home team, Balleri launched a throw in into
the box, Giorgetti turned it on and Lucarelli just got ahead of his marker
to poke past the 'keeper. Both teams had plenty of chances. Lecce increased
their lead from the penalty spot and Chimenti made a fantastic double save
to end Bari's hopes of getting back in the match. Innocenti was sent off
for giving Colonnello a elbow Misawa would have been proud of.

Attendance : 19,922
Red Card : Innocenti 87 (Bari)
Assists : ?, Vugrinec

NAPOLI 0-0 ATALANTA

Napoli go from the suicidal attacking of Zeman to the thuggish, defensive
style of Mondonico. Mondonico made what I thought was a hilarious
comment in the week claiming he always get the best out of his players
and the teams were only relegated because they weren't good enough. To be
fair to him he's probably right. Amoruso and Pecchia went close for Napoli.
Neither 'keeper was tested.

Attendance : 35,000

UDINESE 3-0 REGGINA
Sosa 36, 51
Fiore 43 (Pen)

Reggina and Taibi held out for over 30 minutes before Sosa headed Udinese
into the lead from Fiore's excellent first time cross. Fiore converted a non
penalty won by the impressive Diaz. The ref was feeling charitable because
Turci got nowhere near Marazzina when he threw himself down in the box.
Turci easily saved Bogdani's awful penalty. Taibi spilled a tame shot and Sosa
claimed his second.

Attendance : 20,000
Assists : Fiore, Diaz

VERONA 1-4 ROMA
Oddo 4 (Pen) Candela 38
							Totti 45
							Batistuta 58, 90

Gilardino threw himself over Antonioli, Oddo converted the penalty. Mutu went
off with a knee injury and Roma equalised shortly thereafter, Candela drilling
a shot through a ruck of players following awful defending from a corner.
Totti killed off Verona with a tap-in from Delvecchio's centre on the stroke
of half time.

Candela won a free kick on the edge of the box and Batistuta hammered the
ball into the top corner, fabulous strike. Cafu and Tomassi combined to give
Batistuta a tap-in.

Roma's first real test comes in December at home to Udinese and the following
week the Rome derby, away to Lazio.

Attendance : 20,053
Assists : Gilardino, Delvecchio, Candela, Tomassi

18 NOVEMBER 2000

INTER 2-1 PERUGIA
Recoba 9 Materazzi 29
Vieri 31

Recoba give Inter an early lead with a phenomenal goal, he took one touch to
control Cauet's pass and then from a ridiculous angle bent the ball in off
the post. Materazzi caught out Frey with a well struck free kick. Vieri put
Inter back in front heading in Recoba's corner. Donkey Sukur missed two 100%
chances. Frey made one of his impossible saves from Saudati's spectacular
volley.

Assists : Cauet, ?, Recoba

LAZIO 1-1 MILAN
D Baggio 3 Shevchenko 54

Donkey Dino Baggio scored his first and probably last goal for Lazio with a
blistering strike from outside the box. Julio Cesar should have scored from a
cleverly worked free kick. Albertini stuck a ball into the box, Nesta was all
over Shevchenko but he kept his composure, waited for the ball to drop and
stuck it under Peruzzi, excellent finish. Shevchenko wasted a great chance
from a free kick. Abbiati made a fantastic save from a Simeone header. Julio
Cesar made an excellent clearance to deny Popeye Lombardo late on.

Both teams may be mid-table but they've had a far tougher schedules than the
other 'title contenders'.

Attendance : 35,000
Assists : Simeone, Albertini
