Everton 1 (Beattie 9)
West Ham 2 (Weir 19 og, Zamora 67)

West Ham move into seventh after coming from behind to beat Everton. The
home side went ahead early on when James McFadden's cross was swept home
emphatically by James Beattie, however within ten minutes the Hammers
were level when Thomas Repka was allowed time to cross and after Nuno
Valente failed to clear at the near post, the ball struck David Weir on
the shin and looped in over his own keeper. Midway through the second
half, West Ham deservedly clinched victory as Matty Etherington's run
and shot was well saved by Richard Wright, however Bobby Zamora was on
hand to tap in his third goal in as many games.

Manchester United 4 (Ferdinand 29, Rooney 34, 54, van Nistelrooy 69 pen)
Wigan 0

Man United are back on form as they swept Wigan aside at Old Trafford.
Away keeper Mike Pollitt made a succession of decent saves, however when
Rio Ferdinand nodded in a corner from Ryan Giggs, the fingertips of the
stopper only diverted the ball away from a defender on the line and into
the net for Ferdinand's first United goal since joining in the summer of
2002. The lead was soon doubled when Darren Fletcher crossed for Wayne
Rooney and although he originally slipped as he tried to wriggle through
three defenders, he regained his footing, made space and fired in a
terrific goal at the near post. Rooney added a third early in the second
half when he was sent clear by Ruud Van Nistelrooy and the calmly
clipped the ball over the advancing Pollitt and with twenty minutes
left, Van Nistelrooy was fouled in the area by the keeper and then sent
him the wrong way from the spot to clinch a resounding win.
