PREMIERSHIP ROUND 10

29 OCTOBER 2001

BLACKBURN 0-0 LEICESTER

Having scored 10 goals in their last two games Rovers couldn't find a
way through the worst defence in the league. Leicester actually had the
better chances. Unfortunately they fell to Akinbiyi who couldn't hit a
cow's arse with a banjo.

28 OCTOBER 2001

IPSWICH 2-3 WEST HAM
Hreidarsson 63 Di Canio 22
Holland 90 Kanoute 72
						Defoe 90

Di Canio gave West Ham the lead mid way through the first half. Hislop
palmed Venus' free kick straight onto Hreidarsson's head for the equaliser.
Hreidarsson scored at the other end, deflecting Kanoute's shot past his
own 'keeper. Defoe latched onto Carrick's first time pass, Gaardsoe tried
to clear but the ball struck Defoe and he continued his run before
coolly slotting past Hislop. Holland scored a brilliant consolation goal
but West Ham held on for a long overdue away victory.

Assists : Hutchison, Peralta

DERBY 1-1 CHELSEA
Ravanelli 7 Hasselbaink 48

Ravanelli was miles offside as he scrambled in a loose ball which should
have long since been cleared. Hasselbaink equalised with a typically
no nonsense finish, banging Powell's week header past Poom.

Assist : Carbone

27 OCTOBER 2001

ASTON VILLA 3-2 BOLTON
Angel 12, 46 (Pen) Ricketts 2, 75
Vassell 42

Ricketts ran clear with the Villa defence appealing for offside and despite a
heavy second touch Schmiechel didn't have the legs to close him down.
Angel equalised from a corner and made the second for Vassell with a superb
flick on. In the first minute of the half the ref dreamed up a penalty for a
supposed foul on Hadji which Hadji himself seemed to know nothing about.
Angel converted. Ricketts scored an easy second following a superb run down
the left by Gardner.

Ricketts is everything Heskey should be. He has pace, power but unlike
Heskey is a clinical finisher. Forget that shandy drinking southerner
Sheringham, Ricketts is the man to partner Owen.

Assists : Per Frandsen, Staunton, Angel, Hadji, Gardner

CHARLTON 0-2 LIVERPOOL
						Redknapp 14
						Owen 42

Konchesky beat Gerrard to a throw in unfortunately for him he headed
the ball into the box and Redknapp arrived to volley Liverpool into
the net. The King of England (Owen) scored a superb second, he raced
onto Hamann's through pass and as Kiely came off his line lifted the ball
into the net.

Assist : Hamann

EVERTON 1-3 NEWCASTLE
Weir 50 Bellamy 18
						Solano 48
						Acuna 85

Bellamy was left a tap-in after Xavier almost killed himself following
a collision with Paul Gerrard. Solano headed in Shearer's cross. Weir headed
in Alexadersson's corner. Ferguson blew a great chance to equalise. Bellamy
sent a cross into the box and the Everton defence decided it would be
a good time to appeal for offside as Robert passed to Acuna for an easy
third.

Assists : Solano, Shearer, Alexadersson, Robert

FULHAM 2-1 SOUTHAMPTON
Malbranque 25, 33 Beattie 32

Hayles shot was saved by Jones but the ball ballooned up in the air, Marlet
weakly headed at goal and Malbranque made sure. Beattie equalised
when Fulham attempted to play offside on the half way line with the usual
result. Malbranque put Fulham back in front a minute later after terrible
defending left him with another open goal.

Assist : El Khalej

MAN UNITED 1-1 LEEDS
Solskjaer 89 Viduka 76

As Harte swung a cross into the box Silvestre, who was 'marking' Viduka
stood watching and Viduka, who isn't exactly the quickest player in the
World, pulled away in slow motion and volleyed the ball under the bald
twat's legs. Harte was at fault for the equaliser as Solskjaer easily rose
above him to head in a Giggs cross. Only a World Class save by Martyn
from Van Nistelrooy denied the home side the three points.

Beckham and Keane should have been sent off. Beckham for a poorly
timed challenge on Keane and the young striker for his reaction - a
violent push on Beckham. Leeds totally bottled it after going in front.
They need to learn how to retain possession.

Assists : Harte, Giggs

SUNDERLAND 1-1 ARSENAL
Schwarz 54 Kanu 40

A superb ball from the usually useless Wiltord released Kanu and he took
forever to put the ball into the back of the net. Schwarz scored a great
equaliser following terrible defending by first Keown and then Parlour -
a precise chip from the edge of the box.

TOTTENHAM 2-1 MIDDLESBROUGH
Sheringham 58 Boksic 9
Ferdinand 61

Perry flicked on Ince's free kick and Boksic volleyed Boro into the lead.
Taricco went down in the box after a non foul by Queudrue. Old man
Sheringham converted the penalty and fellow geriatric Ferdinand arrived
at the far post to score the winner.

Assist : Taricco
